Lied to from the beginning We found a vehicle on their website and called about it. We drove 4 hours from the west coast to see it after calling to make sure it was still availa We found a vehicle on their website and called about it. When we arrived, the vehicle was not on site, the air conditioning compressor was broken and their was an extra 12,000 more miles on the odometer than was posted online. We still took it for a test drive and placed a deposit on the vehicle pending them fixing the air issues. Three weeks later after multiple calls and emails from US to them, they refunded our deposit saying they were not going to fix it but send it to auction. We made an as is offer but it was rejected. Several weeks after that, we were still looking online for the same vehicle and found that they had repaired the vehicle and re listed the vehicle on their website. If Greg, the GM, would have been honest with us from the beginning about this vehicle, we would have still purchased it. For a dealership that specializes in highend vehicles, the customer service and communication skills need to be worked on. More
BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE My wife had search out Mercedes GL 550, Spanos was the only dealer ship to have the exact car we where interested in. Contacted dealer via email and asked if vehicle was available salesman Rich returns email and stated yes. Contacted Rich again on the Saturday before driving 200 miles. Asked if the car was still available for sale and if it was ready for sale. We drive the 200 miles to find A.) that Rich was not at the dealership, B.) the car we where going to look at was not ready for sale, A/C in the car was not working. So after setting around and waiting we start negotiating the repairs and when we would be able to return to purchase the vehicle. We left a deposit on the vehicle. After countless calls and emails to Rich Messenger, Tommy Troung. They never called, I had to reach out to them. Greg sat in the chair in front of me and said "I Personally will reach out to you and let you know the progress." Greg did nothing of the sort. He had tasked Tommy with reaching out and no emails or calls. Again I was the one calling and emailing. My wife was very disappointed in the customer service experience. I have worked in the automotive business for 17 plus years and purchased several cars. This has to have been the worst, and we didn't even end up buying the car. They eventually returned our deposit after three weeks, and running our credit. The vehicle as we where told was going to auction because it was to expensive to fix. It is back on there web site for sale at a higher price. So after being treated terribly at the dealer and being lied to over email, they obviously fixed the vehicle and now are asking more money. More

Dealer fees I offered cash to avoid the dealer fees of 800.00. I was told fees were for dealer work on financing, tax and title. A strictly cash deal eliminates the need for the dealer service fees. The dealership still insisted on fees not earned. The fees are a means of gouging the customer at this dealership. Greg did follow up with me on this review. However, I believe he missed th point of my complaint. He thought I was mad because Spanos Motors would not sell me the car in question. He is wrong. I am simply making known the dealers fees are nothing more than excuses to gouge the customer. For example, Greg told me I would have to have the car towed off the Spanos Motor lot if I insisted on paying cash less the dealer fees. That is basically 800.00 for a paper tag. Even if Spanos Motors paid the 300.00 sales tax in SC before issuing a paper tag, the customer on a cash deal would pay 800.00 fees +300.00=1100.00 for a paper tag. I write the review to warn others, who would pay cash, of the gouge at Spanos Motors. To be frank the follow up addressed a concern I did not have with respect to this review. Turns out the car has a severely cracked dash and I would not have purchased it at any price. Lexus had a deadline on the dash replacement for the GX470 of May 31, 2017. This review is about gouging customers who pay cash for a vehicle. More
