I had a recall on my 2009 Honda CRV. As I normally do business with Bob Ross Honda, I called them first. The individual in service with whom I talked basically dismissed the recall, ind As I normally do business with Bob Ross Honda, I called them first. The individual in service with whom I talked basically dismissed the recall, indicating it was more serious if the car had been North. He indicated that they had no parts for the recall. Told me to call back in October. Somewhat dismissive, in my opinion. Finding that hard to believe, I called Space Coast Honda. The lady who answered was gracious. She knew about the recall, and she was very quick to ask me what was convenient for ME. I was stunned. They had the parts....She set the appointment for the following Monday at 9am with Chris Hall. I arrived on time. They welcomed me and were very nice. Took me right into their excellent waiting room, and they proceeded to solve the recall problem. I also spoke with the service manager, whose name I regret not writing down, as he was also top shelf. All in all, they fixed the recall issue, were gracious, and even WASHED my car. Super folks. We stopped at space coast Honda to have two keys cut and programmed for our older Honda Odyssey. We were told they could not make the keys without the van. (Not at all true, we have had them made before fro programmed for our older Honda Odyssey. We were told they could not make the keys without the van. (Not at all true, we have had them made before from another key.) When we questioned the service manager about this, he said, “yes, it can be done that way, but we don’t do that because then the keys wouldn’t be genuine Honda parts.” We had been waiting for about 90 minutes when I went and inquired about the keys. I was told, “they are programming the keys now, and working on the airbag.” Again, I questioned this as we had not asked for recall service on the airbag. The technician said that he had explained to my husband that “if we have the parts we will fix it because it is a safety recall.” No one ever said that this work was going to be done. It truly felt that we were being held hostage so that they could cash in on the recall work. The service manager said that they had no choice but to fix it if it was a recall. I am glad that it is fixed, but would like to have been advised of the work intended and how long it would take as we had another obligation. We stopped in for keys and were there for two hours. More
