I have a long history with Southtowne and I am continually impressed I would like to commend Mr. Paul Hardegree for his patience and professionalism. I have a long history with Southtowne and I am continually impressed with the consistency of their service. It is always a delight to do business with this company. In the absence of Larry Rooker, my go-to-person in the Service Department at Southtowne, Mr. Hardegree is to be commended for his patience and professionalism. I stressed patience because I waffled on whether or not my vehicle needed a catalytic converter due to past issues with other shops misdiagnosing problems or creating problems that do not exist with my vehicle. On several occasions, in the past, I have found that other service centers often claim there is a major problem with my vehicle only to find out that there was not. This was not the case with Southtowne. I only questioned the diagnosis because of a number of other issues, to include the fact that (1) the engine light initiated at impact with the curb of a sidewalk and (2) I had recently filled my tank with super unleaded gas. Also, I consulted two others mechanics who suggested that I have the engine light reset and see if it would come on again. They assured me if it did and the code read the same, it is most likely a bad converter. After the light came back on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, I decided to go ahead and have the converter replaced since I am about to embark on a number of camping trips. So, many thanks for Paul's patience especially after I had urged him to order the expensive part, which they did not have in stock due to the age of my vehicle. More
