Unnecessary Charge When I brought my Dodge Grand Caravan in, I told them exactly what part needed to be changed, I knew it had to be changed because I had to sever the When I brought my Dodge Grand Caravan in, I told them exactly what part needed to be changed, I knew it had to be changed because I had to sever the wiring harness for the automatic siding door in order to close that door.. They took the vehicle to the back for about an hour, then brought the vehicle back up front They told me that they did not have the harness in stock and had to order it, But the charge was over $800. I could not afford that kind of repair at this time. The service department charged me about $135 for a Diagnostic Evaluation. According to the evaluation they told me that they had to order the exact part that I told them I wanted changed. The Diagnostic evaluation and the wasted hour of my time was not necessary. All that was necessary was to order the part that I asked for and install it. I KNEW EXACTLY WHAT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED OUT, AS I PERSONALLY HAD TO DAMAGE IT IN ORDER TO GET THE DOOR TO CLOSE. There was NO evaluation necessary. I realize that I have 90 days to return and do the repair, and the Diagnostic Evaluation charge would be applied to my final bill. However, you took advantage of me. I would have had more time to put the money for the repair aside before I lost it after 90 days. Had I felt that the estimate for repair was excessive, I could have just ordered the part myself and done the work at home. This Dodge Caravan is my sixth in the past twenty or more years. Three of them have been BraunAbility convered vans. The nest van I buy, I will take a harder look at the Honda and other van that was offered to me when I bought this Grand Caravan . More
