Southland Dodge was opened in July 1968 by Joe Teuton Jr., Jeff Teuton, and Dennis Oncale. Joe and Dennis were experienced auto technicians at Downtown Auto Service on Lafayette St, and Jeff was a college graduate in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. They were also avid drag racers, and they were all under 30 years of age. The first location at 505 Sunset Ave featured a one-car showroom and a 10 car parking lot. Their racing background helped them to sell lots of Dodge Superbees, Chargers, and Challengers in the early years.

Your salesman & possibly your finance manager are dishonest! We agreed on a sales price & when I got to the finance manager she shocked me with the interest rate then rushed through signing & later w dishonest! We agreed on a sales price & when I got to the finance manager she shocked me with the interest rate then rushed through signing & later when I looked at the information, a few days later, on the jump drive she gave me, it $5,000 more than the agreed price! I take part of the blame, I should have paid more attention but I didn’t think they would be so dishonest! Believe me, I’m telling everyone I know to stay far, far away from Southland!!!!!! More
