Southland Dodge was opened in July 1968 by Joe Teuton Jr., Jeff Teuton, and Dennis Oncale. Joe and Dennis were experienced auto technicians at Downtown Auto Service on Lafayette St, and Jeff was a college graduate in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. They were also avid drag racers, and they were all under 30 years of age. The first location at 505 Sunset Ave featured a one-car showroom and a 10 car parking lot. Their racing background helped them to sell lots of Dodge Superbees, Chargers, and Challengers in the early years.

This was our first time dealing with Southland Dodge. We went in not expecting much quality in service since we have yet to have good service in the Houma area outside of the Toyota dealership. What we found were people who sell cars in a friendly and what I guess you can call and "old school small town nice" way. Southland has completely exceeded our expectations and gave us the price we were looking for in our new Pacifica. Our salesman Ben was great and just a genuine "good guy" who was a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone looking for dodge, Chrysler, jeep, etc. More
