Wish I knew about this site in 2011 when we bought our VW Routan.... The buying experience back then was mediocre, but our experience with this dealership since then has been horrendous! They're always tryi Routan.... The buying experience back then was mediocre, but our experience with this dealership since then has been horrendous! They're always trying to swindle you! Every problem I've ever reported has been left broken, and I am told they "can't find anything wrong." Most recently, I brought my car in for an oil change and inspection and got a call later that day that someone had HIT my car and they would need to replace the bumper!!! 2 weeks of aggravation later, I finally got my car back... but that was after being lied to over and over again, and this place first patching the bumper instead of replacing it, then replacing it and painting it a mis-matching shade of red! I had never heard of such tom foolery from a dealership until this experience. I even reported them to VW of America, which still yielded no response from these thieves. Unreal. If you're considering this dealership for a VW, do yourself a favor and head over to Checkered Flag instead. Wish we'd known 2 years ago that that place is the better pick!!! More
Purchased a new Jetta three weeks ago from Southern Volkswagon. One of the big selling points was the Southern Hospitality Buyers Program. One of the really attractive features included roadside assist Volkswagon. One of the big selling points was the Southern Hospitality Buyers Program. One of the really attractive features included roadside assistance. On Thursday, my discovered a flat tire on her Jetta. She called VW to request roadside assistance. When the representative arrived he discovered that the Tow Hook which is required to tow the vehicle was missing. The Jetta can not be towed without the tow hook. When I arrived home from work, I decided to simply change the tire and drive it to the vehicle. This is when we discovered that the Lug Key was also missing. Without the Lug Key, the flat tire could not be removed. Ultimately, the dealership sent a different type of tow truck that lifted the whole car up and took it to be serviced. My wife asked the dealership to go ahead and perform a scheduled maintenance. The dealership had the car for 8 hours before calling to let us know it was ready. When we went to pick it up, we were informed that the requested maintenance had not been performed. It took 8 hours to remove a nail from a tire. We have discovered other items missing from the vehicle since our purchase. We are very happy with the Jetta but are going to research our service options and will never purchase another vehicle from this dealership. More
Had 2 rims and 2 tires replaced via insurance. Also paid to have the other 2 tires replaced at the same time.Car was in for 6 days.Rims were scratched when picked up and the colision center blamed the servi to have the other 2 tires replaced at the same time.Car was in for 6 days.Rims were scratched when picked up and the colision center blamed the service dept at the dealership. They said they knew nothing about it.When I finally picked up the car the steering wheel was crooked to the right.Returned the car, paid for an alignment, and then the steering wheel was crooked to the left.Brought it back...crooked to the right again. No returns to my phone calls from the service advisor or manager after a week now to remedy this.I have purchased 6 cars over 15 years from this dealership and thought I would be treated better than this. The end. Service for vw passat required due to vw TSB on several parts. VW dealership knew about problems but did not notify me. I had to take my vehicle to a private repair shop to diagnosis correct problems. Serv parts. VW dealership knew about problems but did not notify me. I had to take my vehicle to a private repair shop to diagnosis correct problems. Service advisor did not know when vehicle would be fixed. Service advisor was not knowledgeable about extended warranty sold by his dealership. Service advisor told me he would call but never did. Charged me for a rental without notifying me of charge. Horrible customer service skills as he attempted to cover up his mistake about not calling and then blamed it on the holidays. I asked to speak to service manager but was told that she was with a customer and in a meeting at the same time. I left a message for the service manager to return my call and it has been 8 days with no return phone call. Incredibly disappointed with the treatment I received with this service department. More
I absolutely despise this dealership. I purchased a new I absolutely despise this dealership. I purchased a new Beetle from them and had the car in the shop after 10 months. Everything has been wrong I absolutely despise this dealership. I purchased a new Beetle from them and had the car in the shop after 10 months. Everything has been wrong with this car not once but multiple times. The power steering went out on me while I was driving. I took the car into VW Greenbrier to be serviced for this problem and they charged a fortune for it. No less than 4 months later, the power steering went out again! Once again, I was charged a fortune for this repair. When I told them that this had just been repaired a few months ago, I was told that it was no longer under warranty. I then told them that if it was repaired correctly the first time this should not have happened again. This complaint made no difference to them and I had to shell out the money. Later on, I was driving this "Dung Beetle" and the red engine light started blinking. Like an idiot, I took the car into Greenbrier VW and was told that the water pump needed to be replaced which costs a small fortune. The problems just continued to happen. The power locks and windows malfunctioned, the oil pan leaked, engine mount needed repair, serpentine belt broke, the entire brake system needed to be replaced, and the headlights needed new bulbs constantly. In addition, I was told that the tie-rods needed to be replaced 5 times!! Also, I was told that the dipstick was broken. Well, Greenbrier VW's inept grease monkeys must have broken that since they were the only ones who ever serviced the car! In fact, one time the car was making a grinding noise when turning. I asked Stuggee if he would come into the car so that he could hear it. Well, he got into the drivers seat and proceeded to drive like a madman around the lot. He drove at about 50mph around the lot and turned the car as if we were in the Indy 500. He then said that he didn't hear anything. I then got into the drivers seat and slowly turned the car as any normal person would drive a car. He then heard it. These people are pure morons! They aren't fit to drive or even service a remote control car! The paperwork that I have for this vehicle's service history is the size of a dictionary. Asking to speak to a manager was useless. On several occasions I tried to contact Vic Duarte as well as Miranda. They never would return my calls and each and every time I called I was told that they were on a lunch break. I even tried to contact Jeff Owens the president of Greenbrier VW. He would not take my calls either. I then contacted VW of America. VW of America are as corrupt as they come. They do not care about the customer and are only interested in making money off of their piece of trash cars. I sent them all of my paperwork and showed them all of the repairs that I had to make on the Dung Beetle. Their solution to my problem was a $1000 off the purchase of a new VW. As if I would ever buy a VW again! I will never ever buy a VW again. I will also never visit the Greenbrier VW dealership again. They are con artists and ripoff artists. They do not care about the customer and go out of their way to make the whole experience as unpleasant as possible. My greatest joy would be for the company to go out of business. I hope everyone reads this and stays as far away from Greenbrier VW as possible. The Beetle was my dream car that quickly turned into a nightmare. To this day, I gag whenever I see a VW on the road and feel sick to my stomach whenever I pass by Greenbrier VW. More

Jason who is a service rep is wonderful, he really needs to relocate because he is too good to be working here, I just heard today of a service rep let go and 3 mechanics. This place has crazy turnover and to relocate because he is too good to be working here, I just heard today of a service rep let go and 3 mechanics. This place has crazy turnover and absoulute 0 QUALITY CONTROL. They forgot to put screws in a oil pan cover and it fell off on the highway while driving, oops, then they replaced my glo plugs with the wrong ones, oops, now they put on a new timing belt and 37 minutes of driving later, the NEW timing belt explodes off my car in a parking lot, they towed it back and after 3 weeks of diagnosing why this happend no one is taking any OWNERSHIP of this! I now need a 12,000 dollar new engine! plus the money I threw away replacing the belt. Thank GOD I was not on the highway in rush hour traffic because I lost all power and steering to the car right away. Run dont walk from this service department. More
I recently took my 2007 VW Passat 2.0t in for unscheduled maintenance; a loud noise under the hood when accelerating and cruising and unusual rumble at idle. I called at 9 in the morning and scheduled a drop maintenance; a loud noise under the hood when accelerating and cruising and unusual rumble at idle. I called at 9 in the morning and scheduled a dropoff for 3 pm. I showed up at 1 pm, 2 hours early. I was seen promptly by my service advisor and all paperwork/administrative issues were cleared in 5 minutes. I was told I would recieve a call by the next morning to let me know the status of my vehicle and what repairs would be necessary. In this time, the Enterprise representative arrived and was waiting for me BEFORE I was done at the desk. I was promptly taken across the street and placed in a rental and on my way...the entire evolution took less than 30 minutes. I got the morning phone call I was promised and another around 12:30-1:00 pm telling me my vehicle was repaired. I was informed that although I have exceeded mileage for my warranty period, the specific defect is covered under a VW extended warranty for a known problem with my model vehicle. If the dealership was not honest and I did not know how to do research, they could have easily charged me a handsome sum for this repair. As it stands, the entire repair was performed for free and I only paid for a rental vehicle for one day. I would have had the rental for free also but kept the car for over 24 hours...I was covered for 1 day free rental but did not know. On top of the dealership being honest about the repair, they performed my 60K maintenance also while the vehicle was there. I cannot speak for others but I went in with realistic expectations of a Service Department and understanding my responsibilties and rights as a consumer. I had (and have had) continual pleasant experiences with Greenbrier Volkswagen in Chesapeake, Va. Kudos for your sincerity and dedication. More
