This was after trying to bring the car back and swap it out within the 3 day window of their policy and was told the car I wanted was nowhere to be found. Then I bring my new car back in to get the work done and magically the car I wanted was right there and still for sale. By now it's past the 3 day window so I have to have a sit down with the GM of the dealership and get told he's not going to do anything for me and gave me a list of terrible excuses why. I'm sorry I even stepped a foot onto the lot of this dealership!!! STAY AWAY! More
My wife and I went to Southern VW to test drive a used Jetta listed on their website as "excellent condition, reduced internet sale price!". I printed out the ad and we went to the dealership. A salesman Jetta listed on their website as "excellent condition, reduced internet sale price!". I printed out the ad and we went to the dealership. A salesman didn't even wait for me to get out the car before he approached me, which was kind of weird. Anyway we went to the car I was interested in and I did a thorough look around of the exterior and interior. The car looked like it had been outside, under a tree, during a bad rain storm. The engine compartment looked like someone dumped a bag of leaves and dead bugs inside, interior was decent, the exterior paint is nowhere near "excellent condition". Anyway, at this point I am borderline about to leave because the car was falsely advertised. I asked if the internet price was the firm price, since the car wasn't in great condition as advertised. Salesman says the internet price was a really great deal and cannot talk it down. I started walking away with my wife. salesman stops us on our tracks, and says to come inside and he will talk to the manager. Manager gave us the price we wanted, BUT decides to add on an additional "certified pre owned" charge of $1280, plus some other bullsh** fees. to not make the time a complete waste, we took advantage of the test drive and we drove the jetta like we stole it. We definitely loved the car, but the dealership had horrible "hospitality". They think they can pull a fast one on you, and that you are too stupid to realize it. Best decision we made that day was to get up and walk away, not taking any of their bait. My wife and I ended up buying a used jetta up near DC for $3000 less, and the car was in much greater condition, higher model than the one we looked at in Southern VW. Avoid this dealership. Read all the reviews on the internet about this dealership and make up your mind. I'm sure once you read all the personal stories, you will be swayed away from here. More
They added a destination charge for a used vehicle that was traded in there. They did not explain this to me but instead gave me the internet price for the vehicle and then a total for "taxes and fees". was traded in there. They did not explain this to me but instead gave me the internet price for the vehicle and then a total for "taxes and fees". After being there for 3 hours, I signed and paid for the car only to realize when I got home that the purchase price for the car was $691.23 more than it was supposed to be. So the internet price means nothing-they charge a processing fee of $489 and a destination fee of $691.23! PLEASE LOOK AT THE NUMBERS BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING!!!!! More
Service for vw passat required due to vw TSB on several parts. VW dealership knew about problems but did not notify me. I had to take my vehicle to a private repair shop to diagnosis correct problems. Serv parts. VW dealership knew about problems but did not notify me. I had to take my vehicle to a private repair shop to diagnosis correct problems. Service advisor did not know when vehicle would be fixed. Service advisor was not knowledgeable about extended warranty sold by his dealership. Service advisor told me he would call but never did. Charged me for a rental without notifying me of charge. Horrible customer service skills as he attempted to cover up his mistake about not calling and then blamed it on the holidays. I asked to speak to service manager but was told that she was with a customer and in a meeting at the same time. I left a message for the service manager to return my call and it has been 8 days with no return phone call. Incredibly disappointed with the treatment I received with this service department. More
I absolutely despise this dealership. I purchased a new I absolutely despise this dealership. I purchased a new Beetle from them and had the car in the shop after 10 months. Everything has been wrong I absolutely despise this dealership. I purchased a new Beetle from them and had the car in the shop after 10 months. Everything has been wrong with this car not once but multiple times. The power steering went out on me while I was driving. I took the car into VW Greenbrier to be serviced for this problem and they charged a fortune for it. No less than 4 months later, the power steering went out again! Once again, I was charged a fortune for this repair. When I told them that this had just been repaired a few months ago, I was told that it was no longer under warranty. I then told them that if it was repaired correctly the first time this should not have happened again. This complaint made no difference to them and I had to shell out the money. Later on, I was driving this "Dung Beetle" and the red engine light started blinking. Like an idiot, I took the car into Greenbrier VW and was told that the water pump needed to be replaced which costs a small fortune. The problems just continued to happen. The power locks and windows malfunctioned, the oil pan leaked, engine mount needed repair, serpentine belt broke, the entire brake system needed to be replaced, and the headlights needed new bulbs constantly. In addition, I was told that the tie-rods needed to be replaced 5 times!! Also, I was told that the dipstick was broken. Well, Greenbrier VW's inept grease monkeys must have broken that since they were the only ones who ever serviced the car! In fact, one time the car was making a grinding noise when turning. I asked Stuggee if he would come into the car so that he could hear it. Well, he got into the drivers seat and proceeded to drive like a madman around the lot. He drove at about 50mph around the lot and turned the car as if we were in the Indy 500. He then said that he didn't hear anything. I then got into the drivers seat and slowly turned the car as any normal person would drive a car. He then heard it. These people are pure morons! They aren't fit to drive or even service a remote control car! The paperwork that I have for this vehicle's service history is the size of a dictionary. Asking to speak to a manager was useless. On several occasions I tried to contact Vic Duarte as well as Miranda. They never would return my calls and each and every time I called I was told that they were on a lunch break. I even tried to contact Jeff Owens the president of Greenbrier VW. He would not take my calls either. I then contacted VW of America. VW of America are as corrupt as they come. They do not care about the customer and are only interested in making money off of their piece of trash cars. I sent them all of my paperwork and showed them all of the repairs that I had to make on the Dung Beetle. Their solution to my problem was a $1000 off the purchase of a new VW. As if I would ever buy a VW again! I will never ever buy a VW again. I will also never visit the Greenbrier VW dealership again. They are con artists and ripoff artists. They do not care about the customer and go out of their way to make the whole experience as unpleasant as possible. My greatest joy would be for the company to go out of business. I hope everyone reads this and stays as far away from Greenbrier VW as possible. The Beetle was my dream car that quickly turned into a nightmare. To this day, I gag whenever I see a VW on the road and feel sick to my stomach whenever I pass by Greenbrier VW. More

Jason who is a service rep is wonderful, he really needs to relocate because he is too good to be working here, I just heard today of a service rep let go and 3 mechanics. This place has crazy turnover and to relocate because he is too good to be working here, I just heard today of a service rep let go and 3 mechanics. This place has crazy turnover and absoulute 0 QUALITY CONTROL. They forgot to put screws in a oil pan cover and it fell off on the highway while driving, oops, then they replaced my glo plugs with the wrong ones, oops, now they put on a new timing belt and 37 minutes of driving later, the NEW timing belt explodes off my car in a parking lot, they towed it back and after 3 weeks of diagnosing why this happend no one is taking any OWNERSHIP of this! I now need a 12,000 dollar new engine! plus the money I threw away replacing the belt. Thank GOD I was not on the highway in rush hour traffic because I lost all power and steering to the car right away. Run dont walk from this service department. More

I had a horrible time with them and could not come to an agreement for a new car. I shopped around and saw that Southern Greenbrier VW had some amazing deals and had 2011 models still left. I knew exactly how much I wanted to pay for a certain car. Did my research of course. This dealership knows how the average customer is looking for a deal and is trying to save every penny. Mrs Rawlings and Mr Perkins was there to make sure I DIDN'T LEAVE with out a car. I was impressed with especially the General Manager Mr Perkins which allowed me to get far better apr (72months) than other dealerships, even though my credit is near perfect. If anyone is looking to buy a new Volkswagen and doesn't want to deal with the 5 hour heckling back and forth which I did at Casey VW; I would highly advise checking these guys out. Thanks again for the superb job Mr Perkins and Mrs Rawlings. Ronald Finch More

My salesman Philip took the time meet everyone of my needs in a timely and professional manner. I went into the sales process with three goals to meet and together with his team they met and exceeded all those goals. Everyone took the time to explain they "why" and the "how" that I needed to know to be comfortable with my purchase. Out of the 17 years I have been purchasing vehicles for me and my family, this experience was by far been the best. Everyone I encountered there was very professional, friendly and willing to help. These guys do it the right way and I will be passing the word around everywhere I go to all in why they should buy from Southern VW at Greenbrier. Just fantastic! V/r Dave Walker More
Back in 09 my husband and I purchased a used car from Daron Harris. He couldnt find the valet key and the windshield wipers barely cleaned the windshield, he said he would have a key made and they would Daron Harris. He couldnt find the valet key and the windshield wipers barely cleaned the windshield, he said he would have a key made and they would replace the windshield wipers at no charge. Well after trying to speak with Daron for days to get this taken care of I finally had to call the sales manager to get it taken care of. It was actually Jay Pichardo who got us a spare key. Then when my car went for the first inspection I recieved a call saying the tint on my windshield was illegal and too low so they took it off and re did it without our permission. We went to go pick up the car and they had totally screwed up the tint on my windshield, luckily I had pictures with me of the car when I bought it from them showing they sold me the car like that and I wanted it fixed. So the sales manager sent me to a tint shop to get it fixed and again without my permission they decided to take the tint off my back window and redo it because there isnt supposed to be tint over the brake light in the window, which would have been fine if they would have asked first. Very unhappy I decided to speak with Jeff Owens, the big man there, he apologized for everything but didnt do anything about it which made me very unhappy. It is now 2011 and our family is growing and we wanted a bigger, newer car. I love driving a manual and having a sunroof. We told them what we wanted and how much we would pay. They kept trying to raise our monthly payments and they tried to trick us into getting an automatic with a sunroof. They also did not give us the sale price that was advertised on the car for a holiday weekend. We also found out that when we bought the car in 09 they didnt give us the trade in on my 03 jetta they said they did so now we are about $700 in negative equity. We walked out. Once again there was a sale going on for military so we decided to go browse again in August. Well they werent honoring the sales again. But they really want the car we have because it is an 07 special edition with less than 50,000 miles on it. We get calls all the time trying to get us up there to trade in our car but they are trying to sell us a new car at FULL MSRP even with sales going on. They keep us there for hours and try to get us to budge on the amounts we want and the car we want, which we are not willing to do. So yet again we walked. Jeff Owens called me specifically asking me to come in to work on a deal so I went to see what he had and he told me he had to find the car I wanted and work the trade in and the numbers and he would call us the next day. It is now November and I am still waiting for the call. I recently had to go to "Southern VW" for my inspection (luckily there were no problems) and I was approached by 4 people who know me from being there before trying to get me to get a new car. I think when my husband and I are ready to we will be checking in with Checkered Flag VW before even thinking about going to Southern VW. Every experience that we have had with Southern VW has been horrible and a let down. More
