How can a dealership feel like family? I’ve been going to southern for awhile to get my car serviced. And while visiting the service department or sales floor can always leave someone feeli I’ve been going to southern for awhile to get my car serviced. And while visiting the service department or sales floor can always leave someone feeling like there is something left to be desired; this last visit was different. I spent a while looking at cars; months to be exact. Aside from the ridiculous attachment to my current car there was the fear of not being able to afford and be approved for a car I would like just as much. Every time I visited I was greeted with the same enthusiasm; but not feeling pressured. Southern Vw has treated me better as a customer than any of the other large dealerships I’ve been to in the area. I will never shop or refer friends and family anywhere else. Reggie was an awesome salesman, truthful, took me seriously, and worked hard to get a deal on an suv I liked at a price I could afford. The southern benefits are great too! This is more than just free oil changes, this is people who stand behind what they sell. This dealership has a culture of customer service and hospitality. Overall I would recommend this dealer for service and sales. It’s so difficult to find a car dealer you feel you can trust, and I finally have. Communication is constantly pleasant, whether being emailed a reminder; or greeted with a smile from Vicky in the front. Southern has graciously worked with every apprehension I’ve given them, and made me feel valued as a customer even if I wasn’t hiring the most expensive car on the lot. I look forward to buying cars here for many years to come. More
Vehicle Not Repaired I am not the typical service customer, I am a thirty eight year master auto technician, and automotive service business owner. I had replaced the stee I am not the typical service customer, I am a thirty eight year master auto technician, and automotive service business owner. I had replaced the steering column module in my son’s 2007 Volkswagen Rabbit and brought it to Greenbrier Volkswagen to have it coded, and I used the night drop to put the vehicle in for service. The next morning I received a call from the service writer Tim, and explained what I needed to have done and why. He explained they could perform the repair for $99.00 unless I wanted to have the problem diagnosed in that case it would run $200.00. I explained that everything on the vehicle worked before I damaged the two pins on the module that connected to the horn when I was replacing the turn signal switch, so I did not see a reason to have it diagnosed. That afternoon I received a call from Tim saying the technician had some trouble coding it, but it was ready for pick up for the agreed upon price. When I picked the vehicle up the electric power steering was operating but the cruise control was not, so when I returned to my shop I scanned the vehicle and found trouble code 01044 incorrect coding trouble code. I called Tim and explained this to him, and he said he would speak to the technician and call me back. I did not hear from Tim that day, so I called him the following afternoon and he explained to me the coding was complicated and it would take another $99.00 charge to complete the coding so everything to work correctly. I told Tim I would have to think about this and I would let him know my decision. At this point I was frustrated, and decided to talk to a fellow business associate to see if he had a programming tool for Volkswagen. Come to find out he has and Autel MaxiSYS Elite which can be used to code the steering column module which he was willing to bring over and use on my vehicle. To make a long story short, the module was coded 000022 when it should have been coded 00042 which is what we coded it too. With this coding it worked properly and Tim wanted to charge me another $99.00 to do this job. If this had been done the first time, the problem would have been repaired. Instead excuses were made, because, in my option the technician did not know what he was doing or did not know to check to see if he had done the coding correctly. The bottom line is, we need verify that we have completed the repair once we have completed a job. Either by checking it ourselves, or by having a team member inspect the completed operation. Friendly. Reliable. Fast The time it took to service my car was within a reasonable time. The staff I interacted with me were friendly, and willing to help where needed. The only real complaint is that it took fifteen minutes to get my car back from valet once the service was complete. However, once I brought the issue to an associate, the situation was promptly fixed, and I got my car back within 2 minutes. Will definitely use Southern VW for my next service appointment. More

We talked about it for nearly a year but when she saw my new car, she was sold. We started searching for just the right one. We found a couple on line and contacted Mr. Rosario. Traveling from Elizabeth City to "look at the cars" ended in a purchasing experience second to none. Mr. Rosario demonstrated how to handle the car, highlighting all the special features and how to use them. I was so impressed, I contacted my son, Derrick who came from his job to see the product. He immeduately signed the paperwork and it was a beautiful ride home in the new car. More
