First time to use the service department. Turned in car for 2 recalls, oil change and tire rotation and left it overnight. Go see Donnie Jackson! Though we in the end did not find the car we needed at Southern States Subaru, working with Donnie to exhaust all possibilities they had in their inventory was exceptional. Rather, Donnie wanted us in the car we wanted/needed even if it was not on his lot in Raleigh. When he/the dealership wrote up a quote on a possible purchase and trade in value, it was strong. The only problem is ultimately it was not the color/type of car we wanted. I would highly recommend you see Donnie if you are looking for a Subaru. If we need another down the road and he is still there we will definitely be back. More
We purchased our 2017 brand new from Southern States Subaru and have taken it in for scheduled service since our purchase. We took it in last week for two recalls, a NC inspection and the 40,000 mile ma Subaru and have taken it in for scheduled service since our purchase. We took it in last week for two recalls, a NC inspection and the 40,000 mile maintenance - the service rep provided us with a loaner car since they said it would take all day. When we signed for the car he said it had a full tank of gas and we should bring it back with a full tank. We drove it home and then back the next day (7.5 miles each way for 15 miles total). When returning the car we stopped at the gas station nearest the dealership to top off the tank - it took THREE GALLONS to fill it up, obviously the tank was not full when given to use the day before. The service department charged us $126.00 for an inspection and oil change. When I mentioned to CHUCK Vasquez, our service rep, that the loaner car gas tank had not been full as we were told he was very snarky and a bit adversarial. Chuck stated, I didn’t tell you that - possibly he didn’t but the guy that gave us the car did and as a customer it really didn’t care what individual had told me - they all should be representing Southern States. Chuck tried to turn into a pissing match and then started joking around - he never offered an apology or accommodation. Chuck just acted like a jerk and as a customer it made me uncomfortable and upset. A couple days later I received an automated survey call from Southern States Subaru basically asking if I was satisfied with my service experience - I said NO. Based on my response it allowed me to leave a recorded response and I did describing our treatment by Chuck. It end with a message stating that a manager would be in touch, I have not been contacted to date. Based on this treatment, and I have read other bad reviews of experiences with Chuck, we will not be taking our car back to this dealership for any further service and I would not recommend it to anyone else either! It’s not the $5 but the sorry attitude and poor communication. More
I was in the market for a new 2021 Subaru Outback Limited and after checking out these vehicles on the Internet, numerous Dealerships got the hit and many emailed me. I specified exactly what I wanted and asked them to email me all of the photos of this car, along with their initial offer. There must have been 3 or 4 different people emailing me from this same location! What a poorly run Dealership! What goes on there, a race to see who is first? I then drilled in one agent and oh my God, what a real loser! I asked him to send me the photos of the car and he gave me this lame excuse that no photos were available yet! Like how difficult is it to upload photos? Is that not part of their job? Ah, preparedness must not be their specialty! Shouldn't this not be mandatory prior to any new listing? How could photos not be available? Image how incompetent this dealership must really be? I then logged in and requested a 'Build Request' specifying exactly the Limited Model being the only vehicle that I wanted! They then got all upset about this email and told me that since I was apparently not very satisfied, that they no longer wanted to even work with me! So a Dealership refuses to work with you, just because you asked for photos and a Build Request? I never even had the chance to speak directly with them! All correspondences were only via email! They had a ready and very well qualified buyer who would be purchasing this car in 2 days on Monday 11/23 and he tells me to go work with another Dealership! This, I will gladly do and I really appreciated him for telling me to go somewhere else, because I could not have even imagined working with them for several hours at Southern States just wasting my time! All you buyers out there, please be aware! More
Donnie Jackson made the purchase of my 2021 Outback easy and painless! Out the door price was much less than the Subaru dealer in Durham and the no pressure sales approach was greatly appreciated. I am very disappointed that we had to bring our ourback back for new tires and realignment one day after our 26k mile maintenance checkup. At delivery, he again took the time to go over the many features of the ascent. The document processing went smoothly and every issue was explained to insure we understood the process.
