This was a pleasant experience. I just knew that I wasn't going to qualify for a loan let alone get any kind of car that I wanted but I took my chances anyway. Mr. Small, a great man if I may add called me and informed me the his manager had given him my information and he was going to see what he could do for me. Over the next few days he kept communication with me via phone, letting me know what he was doing and what he needed from me. I have a very low credit score with no current accounts, to totaled vehicles from prior purchases and no down payment, trust me I was walking on faith because there was no way anyone was gonna finance me. Mr. Small proved me wrong and I felt I could be completely honest with him. I said I know it looks bad but I need a vehicle like yesterday and he said once again, im going to see what I can do to get you in a vehicle. On Friday afternoon Mr. Small called me and said he had great news, he found a company that would finance me and I was to come in and chat with him. Remind you my main goal was to just get in the door so I can have a shot at rebuilding me credit. When I arrived Mr. Small was greeting me with a big smile and even a hug and thanked me for coming out. He took me into his office and explained that he sees that I don't have the best credit history(Beacon 325 to be exact)and my interest rate would be slightly elevated, but he did have a quality vehicle with low miles. That scared me because I really thought I was getting a peice of crap since I can't drive a stickshift car. He then bought me a picture of a 07 PT Cruiser Touring Edition. Never would I have even looked at a PT Cruiser, because that was not my style. Im more of a Lexus, Honda, Jeep kinda girl, a chrysler was something i didnt want, and to be a PT Cruiser i was like whatever. But then i thought about it, where would i find a bank to finance one of those. So I got off of my bougie pedestal and said I can work with that. It turned out to be a great car, the interior is great and clean, and it only had 47k on the odometer. I feel that Mr. Small cared for me like I was his own. I was a damsel in distress and he was my night in shining armor because I could still be driving "mama's van". Mr. Small took the time to see what I really needed and that was a reliable car at a price I could afford. I don't think another dealer would have had the paitence or the time and sent me on about my way. My journey to Hall Nissan of Chesapeake was a long one. I made it to finance at 2 different automotive dealerships- Pence Nissan, and Victory Nissan of Richmond. Both were traumatic experiences. The salesmen were initially nice enough, but somehow, the promises made in the “customer care” area did not translate into the finance area. Promises of “free oil changes for the life of the vehicle at no charge” and others ended up being $1500+ expenses. I spent 8 hours between these two dealerships, and sheer deception and dishonesty caused me to walk out of both of the finance manager’s offices. I was extremely distraught and disappointed at the lack of honesty in the world of car sales and felt as though I was being disrespected and taken advantage of. I went home with a migraine and without a car. After seeing the wonderful reviews of Hall Nissan of Chesapeake, I drove TWO HOURS to give it one more try. Can I tell you… these people are amazing! I was greeted at the door by David Smalls. He asked me about my experiences with car sales and, after hearing about my terrible experiences in Richmond, vowed to be forthright. He made my mother and me feel comfortable and welcome in the establishment and made my car buying experience absolutely wonderful. He was true to his word; he worked with my finances and got my car to fit into my budget. He even had a bowl of chocolate ready to help relieve the stress of the day!This man was delightful! Mike, the business manager, was equally as friendly. He did not badger me to buy warranties and options, he simply presented the information and I made the choices that fit my needs. Patti, the delivery manager, was warm and gracious. She went through my car booklet, showed me all the “bells and whistles” on the car, and made sure that I was knowledgeable about everything before I drove out of the parking lot. I just want to start off by saying that Larry Myers was not just a sales consultant, but a great person to talk to . When we walked through the doors,he did not see us just as $$$ or just trying to get ou not just a sales consultant, but a great person to talk to . I came into the dealership for my service on my 2008 Sentra, and while waiting talked with Jon, about what I could do with replacing my husbands car... On comming back, James and I talked at length, with me needs, wants, and what we could afford.. James, and Mike Roberts, were with me, knowing I was buying while my husband was out to sea... Kind of blindly.. We purchased our 09 Sentra, and were very pleased.. We got exactly what I had asked for and within our reach and means..
