Great Service Department and Team! Robin did it again! She is terrific! THANK YOU for employing such a capable, amazing, intelligent woman in your service department! By way of bac Robin did it again! She is terrific! THANK YOU for employing such a capable, amazing, intelligent woman in your service department! By way of background, I bought and had serviced from you two Lincoln MKX’s that I absolutely LOVED! Sadly for me, I drive from Norfolk to Newport News and Williamsburg EVERY DAY and so I finally made the difficult decision to purchase a more fuel-efficient vehicle…from you of course thanks to Robin, the Green Team and your amazing service department. I feel 100% comfortable with what Robin is telling me and trust her judgment implicitly. I bought a Ford C-Max and while I love it, it certainly isn’t as luxurious as the Lincoln’s. Last week I was able to get an appointment the VERY NEXT DAY for some recalls that needed attention on my C-max. When a part wasn’t available until the next day, Robin kindly asked if she could keep the car overnight and did I have a way home (she knows I live on the other side of the water). When I stated I wasn’t sure about getting a ride home, she stated she thought she may have a loaner and called me back promptly to state she did. So, your nice shuttle driver Ted picked me up and Robin had ready for me a beautiful Lincoln MKS. I drove It home and truly felt like a princess! I hated to return it and Robin stated you had many Lincolns in your showroom…I promised her – and now you – that if/when I will be purchasing a new car (probably fuel efficient again, yet I hope to retire someday and drive a luxury Lincoln again), Hall Automotive will be the ONLY place I will go! I have never written a “thank you” note to a dealership before, yet I had to THANK and COMMEND you again for employing such caring people like Robin, and running a terrific business. You have my business….always. Janet V. Green More

Hall Ford a sad excuse of a service center. I usually self-service all of my vehicle needs. Due to a lack of spare time I decided to have a Ford certified shop perform repairs on my vehicle. I drove my 2 self-service all of my vehicle needs. Due to a lack of spare time I decided to have a Ford certified shop perform repairs on my vehicle. I drove my 2005 F150 ~30 miles to this service center. I had a misfire on cylinder #5 which I had diagnose prior to bringing it to the shop. The spark plug and ignition coil pack were GOOD which I diagnosed prior to putting it in the shop as well. Hall's technician performed his diagnostic test and confirmed what I diagnosed to be true (misfire on #5, plug and coil pack GOOD). They perform a compression test on #5 and stated that it was low and they wanted to remove the valve cover to inspect the valves. I granted them permission to do so. Upon completing their inspection they stated that the valves look fine and recommended that I needed to replace the engine. (huh?!!) They provided no root cause nor any additional information related to the failure. When I requested the compression measurement they could not provide it for the tech did not record it. They never performed dry and wet compression test which is a standard test used to determine the condition of the pistons and rings, cylinder, valves and seats, and even the head gasket. When I presented this to the service manager she was clueless and had never heard of a dry and wet compression test. I disputed my case to the top authority at this location with no reconciliation. The service charge was $517 and they provided me no useful information nor insight as the the truck's failure. Needless to say, I DO NOT recommend this repair shop. However, this location does have a pretty impressive NEW car lot. But with this kind of repair service, I would not buy from Hall Ford. More
I have been happy with Hall Ford until this past week when I attempted to get the free state inspection for a car originally purchased from Hall Ford. I am extremely unhappy because they said that I nee when I attempted to get the free state inspection for a car originally purchased from Hall Ford. I am extremely unhappy because they said that I needed a $1900 repair to pass the inspection. I took the car to a different shop for the repairs because I received an estimate that was 1/3 the cost of Hall however they could not find the problem. They even kept the car overnight to recheck it first thing in the morning when the car was completely cold. I had them inspect the car. I doubt I will ever go back to Hall for Sales or Service! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Thanks for the response however I'm am not sure if the message was completely understood. I absolutely understand that any repairs to the car are at my cost. I have no dispute with that. My issue is with the inspector failing the car for something that was not an issue. The shop I took it to kept it for 2 days trying to find a leak to fix. There wasn't one. I feel the diagnoses by Hall was either incorrect or dishonest and could have cost me $1900. Obviously that leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Also, I looked for manager email addresses on your website and was unable to find any. I think it would be good customer service to provide that information to your customers so when a problem occurs they that option as an avenue to provide feedback. LAST UPDATE: I met the State Police Inspector at Hall Ford and nobody was able to detect a leak, see a leak with the smoke machine, see ANY signs of a leak. The mechanic still insists that it at least leaks first thing in the morning however there was NO rust or carbon to indicate ANY leak. No apology or other attempt to improve on my customer experience. Also, since this issue I have spoken to a couple of people that have also had problems with this service department. Interesting stories to say the least. I will purchase my next vehicle (which will still be a Ford) somewhere else! More

He had followed the W/O and couldn't duplicate the problem. Now many places would just put down could not duplicate on the work order. He came out and asked me to show him what was the problem. I went out and showed him. He was glad to have the information and stated I'm so sorry, I was looking at the front steering gear and didn't know it was the actual steering wheel that made the noise. He then took it back into the shop and tightened the steering wheel up (less than a quarter of a turn) and came back to me to see if I approved and if that had cured the problem. That was all it was and the noise that only occurred during quick turns in a parking area (a click) was gone. I have driven vehicles for 28 years in the military and now as a mechanic and vehicle maintenance instructor teach others how to repair them. I have dealt with many that would have made it out to be me hearing things. I’m sure it was just a minor metal burr on the steering shaft but his extra couple of minutes talking to me probably put him over on the time book for this repair. The thing is, he provided the kind of customer service and little bit extra that will make me talk to my friends about Hall Ford and will keep this old guy getting tired of working on my own cars coming back for more repairs. Someone tell him again thank you, it is the little extra that makes a difference! Trust me, I know how picky customers can be. Pete and Linda Duffy More

While the dam misfortune to have my vehicle hit by another while checking into our hotel. It was Friday evening June 25th, when the incident occured. While the damage was not all that extensive, the rear bumper on my vehicle was ripped partially off requireing immediate attention in order to drive it a long distance. Being from out of state and out of country, I soon realized when checking, that Collision repair shops in the Virginia area were closed on Saturday morning. We found our way to an AAA depot on Saturday morning approx 11:00 am, in Newport News. The gentleman suggested that I take my vehicle to Hall Body shop. Being a Ford dealership and my vehicle a Ford Escape I felt a hopeful relief that things were turning around. We arrived at Halls at 11:40 or so that morning and had the pleasure to speak with Ron Mendenhall, Assistant manager of your Body/Paint shop. Ron had a look at the damage and while the shop was open for estimates only, Ron said not to worry, he would try to get us patched up enough to make the rest of our trip and back to Canada. While we waited in the comfortable air conditioned waiting area, Ron spent appox 20 minutes out in the hot sun to make the temporary repair. My wife and I are very grateful for the wonderful customer service provided by Ron Mendenhall and extend a special Thanks for helping to get us on our way until we could get back to Canada and have the vehicle repaired. Thanks again for the wonderful service. R.Kolbuc More
I had my 2008 Edge services at Hall Ford this week. I am always impressed with their service and attitude towards the end user. During my service this week, I noticed a new Genuine Parts & Service sheet attached to my invoice. I was very impressed with the sheet's layout, ease to follow and especially the information on the back of the sheet (disc brake & suspension). The information gave me a better understand of the language and location of these items. Once again, it is nice to see you take the time to provide this information. Sincerely, William Handy More
