Took my car in for a transmission issue on a Friday. They called me to tell me a part has to arrive on the following Monday then they can repair a module. No contact from Monday until Wednesday of next week, called me to tell me a part has to arrive on the following Monday then they can repair a module. No contact from Monday until Wednesday of next week, when I arrived in person as no phone calls were answered or returned by them. They state the module has been repaired/replaced last week. Which means the car was sitting there for a week + without them calling to discuss any further repairs needed or to tell me it was even finished. Then mention something about knock sensors needing to be repaired and charging me almost 90$ for diagnosing that after stating they did not know how to fix the knock sensors. I take the car home and within a days Ford has been very talkative through emails. A letter about a new ford car with a 40$ less car payment a month. Another email about a new car with the same car payment I already pay. ANOTHER email about how I DECLINED repairs on my car (The knock sensors I was told they could not/did not know how to fix) and it would cost about 700$ for the repairs. So they CAN communicate when it comes to selling cars/making money but silent when it comes to actually fixing the cars. Only positive note is Mike was nice. More

I told him i didnt wish to do that. and he suggested that i come in and discuss options to "get out of the vehicle" When I arrived I paid the 89 dollars for the diagnostic fee and was escorted off to the sales department. he asked what i was looking for but would not tell me how much they would pay for the car in a trade in. he was giving me a soft-sale on picking out a new car, listing several that i should like to look at. After a few minutes i told the gentleman i wasn't interested in look at a car just yet because we are moving. When i arrived home, i looked up the code on several engine sites, ford sites and found this: P0731 FORD Possible Causes Low transmission fluid level Dirty transmission fluid Shift solenoids Transmission mechanical problems Transmission hydraulic control circuit what bothers me is the service manager told me they don't mess with this code and would just recommend replacing the transmission. Never mentioning the other possible causes. (i have the status report and repair estimate). Was the fluid level checked? Unfortunately I cannot access the transmission dipstick to see what is happening because there isn't one on this model. another website suggests that "Before starting the diagnosis, mechanics would first check the transmission fluid’s level and quality. Old and dirty fluid must be replaced." as "Low or dirty transmission problem is probably the most common cause of this error code. Thus, by simply replacing the dirty fluid, the issue can be resolved." Why would they not suggest this before jumping to a 6000 dollar bill? Hall ford has taken my trust and pretty much thrown it out the window. I am extremely bothered by this . Before this I would come to Hall Ford for all my Ford needs. More
Mike understood my transmission problem and explained the diagnostic process to me. The problem was identified quickly (a cracked case) and repaired the same day. I could not ask for more! diagnostic process to me. The problem was identified quickly (a cracked case) and repaired the same day. I could not ask for more! More
