One of the most important responsibilities of a service advisor is listen to the customer’s concerns. In my personal experience that did not happen during my visit. I asked to have my check engine light di advisor is listen to the customer’s concerns. In my personal experience that did not happen during my visit. I asked to have my check engine light diagnosed and let my advisor know that the engine/vehicle would shake when coming to a stop (at idle) intermittently. In addition I asked to have my brakes checked because I was planning on going vacations and I had recently bought the vehicle. After waiting three hours, although she said it will take an hour to taken into the bay to get checked, I asked to please have my car ready because I had to leave, I told her I would make arrangements to drop-off the car a whole day. She printed out my paperwork and let me know that the check engine was caused “due to bad bank 2 oxygen sensor, DTC P0153” and gave me an $848.76 estimate because they recommended to replace BOTH front oxygen sensor.. In regards to the brakes, she wrote as my complaint “customer states vehicle vibrates when at a stop,” their expert recommendation, machine ALL brake rotors (front $179.95 and rear $179.95) due to being warped. Having a more-than-average automotive background, I know that is bs, warped rotors cause vibration when stepping on the brakes while driving not at a stop, and why would I replace both oxygen sensors if the diagnosis calls for only one? It is a shame for automotive dealers to continue to take advantage of the consumer. I paid $89.95 to have a code retrieved when AutoZone does for free and got a quote for $850.00 when I bought an aftermarket sensor for $70 (after 10% military discount) and replace it myself. Thank you Hall Ford, BUT NO THANK YOU!! More
