Chose this dealership based upon research done via Zag.com. Called in advance to obtain specific information about an "out the door" price as a cash deal - no trade. They gave me an outstanding price and were willing to back it up in writing if I so desired! I traveled 60 miles to pick up my car and pay for it. Slight mixup in the price but they corrected it instantly and offered an apology. No headaches when we went to pay for the vehicle in the F&I (Finance and Insurance) Department. They offered the obligatory extended warranties, etc but did not pressure when I declined. I only do deals with dealers that do business this way. As someone who has been in the auto business in the past, Southeastern Honda is a dealership that I would have loved to work for because obviously their system is excellent! More
Purchased a new 2011 Accord and have been extremely happy with it. Tim McDermott was the salesperson and his manager were extremely helpful and responsive to all our questions. I am a retired person and this was very important to me, Mr Hyatt was a very nice man, and his information was very informative to me. He went over everything about the car and about the financing and he was so easy to talk to, I felt as though I had known him for a very long time, I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to lease or buy a car. Great service department. Was in and out fast.I had what I thought was a major problem. It turned out that all I needed was the computer on my Odyssey van to be updated. After my Jeep Liberty was totaled last week,being self employed in this economy, and with a spouse that is laid off, it was difficult to know exactly what type of car I would end up "settling" for. I have lengthy and successful experience in business negotiations from the perspective of multi-national corporations and large scale government concieved econimic development projects and I have bought negotiations from the perspective of multi-national corporations and large scale government concieved econimic development projects and I have bought a dozen and a half new cars in my lifetime so I have a pretty good feel for what is good and what is not. I phoned the dealership beforehand and spoke with Howard Gorman (Finance Mgr.) and described, in detail the deal I was looking to put together for a new Honda CR-V. I was to be trading in a five year old Nissan Altima with very low milage. Howard heard me out, then said "I think we could get close enough to the deal you want so that you can justify the 40 mile trip to our dealership - a deal of the type you describe will be tight but possible depending on the exact condition of your trade-in." The next day I drove up the coastal highway. Mark Valliere was the salesman assigned to assist me. I didn't need Mark's sales pitch - I had done all the research necessary beforehand but I allowed for him to do the Honda Strut and he was really good at it! It was clear he liked what he was doing and that he was not being pressured by the management. Back in the showroom after I had selected the exact car to negotiate upon, I laid out my deal and Mark took it to the Sales Manager who attempted to boot me up 10% in my offer - we met at a half-way point that I suggested - I went $300 and Southeasern Honda came down $1100 - the deal was struck in slightly more an hour after I had arrived. No hassel whatsoever, just plain solid negotiation without pressure of any level. I'd recommend Southeaster Honda to my sister or my daughter as a really good place to buy a new car. More
