In 2015 we had a great experience so my wife and I went back to them. That was a mistake. Southeastern Honda has become no better than a shifty downtown used car lot. I'll explain. The vehicle was used back to them. That was a mistake. Southeastern Honda has become no better than a shifty downtown used car lot. I'll explain. The vehicle was used, but low mileage and in exceptional condition. The only potential issue was a manufacturer oil cooler line defect, so I asked as a condition of purchase to have it replaced with a known flawless replacement (a $50 part). We got pre-approval from our bank for a certain amount, an amount that we did NOT want to go over, and found this vehicle for far less. The sales manager went back and came back with a "final" value at still less than the pre-approval amount, so we started the paperwork. Partway through the signing the manager says that our bank will not approve the amount without a down payment of a couple thousand. We thought that odd, but continued when the numbers still seemed far less that our Max amount. As we were signing, the "final" cost was still below our max, and then the monthly payments from our bank were the last values that we saw, and we made our down payment. So far so good, right... We left, and waited for them to do their maintenance and final cleaning and inspection. When we came back, they said the part looked to be in excellent condition (except that was not the point; the point was to replace with a more reliable part regardless of condition). I argued and they said they could not do it....fine I'll do it myself. Then we got home and checked out our bank, and the final invoice. They charged the bank for the Maximum amount of the pre-approval AND took the down-payment. Taking us over the amount we did not want to pass. In the invoice were the hidden fees that were rolled into the monthly payments, but not in the "final" amount. Be careful. They used to take care of their customers. Now they have become like a 3rd rate used dealer, finding every way to screw over the customer. I will NEVER go back. I was a loyal customer. They destroyed that relationship. More
