South Strand Chrysler….In December 2020 I purchased a South Strand Chrysler…. In December 2020 I purchased a full set of tires from South Strand. Contained within the purchase was an agreement for lifeti South Strand Chrysler…. In December 2020 I purchased a full set of tires from South Strand. Contained within the purchase was an agreement for lifetime tire rotation if and when I brought the vehicle in for service. Earlier this week I took our van in for a 50000 mile service (which was well done and completed on schedule). Upon picking the van up I noticed that I was charged for tire rotation. I explained that I had purchased the tires there and that it was part of the deal. The service manager overheard this and came over to tell me that they don’t do that anymore. He never looked at the vehicles records so I don’t know if the free rotation was noted in their records or not. (Unfortunately, it’s not noted on mine). But, it’s not unusual to receive this service when you take your car back for service to the place you purchased the tires….. So, I questioned him about how I can trust or rely on what is said or any promises made. His response was that he fired all the previous service techs because “they were all a bunch of worthless liars”….and then he just walked away….just walked away! I filled out a detailed Chrysler Corp survey that was sent to me following the service. A part of the survey asked if I’d like to be contacted by the Dealership. I answered yes. The Service Manager called me the next morning. We repeated the same conversation. He said exactly the same things in exactly the same words as the previous day about the former service techs. I said to him that his attitude would force me to look elsewhere for vehicle service. His reply “I understand”…and that was it… I don’t think he does. I am a lifelong Chrysler owner, including the two we own today. Chrysler has owned my service business for 40 years….but now I’ll look locally for a good service shop. I know there are several. Then yesterday I received text from the dealership that asked if I’d like to take a survey about my service. I answered yes. The first question was “would you recommend us to others?”. I answered no. “Please tell us why”. Then when I started to type a reply I received the message that I was timed out. I tried again, same message. I tried again with a one sentence response, same message. Is this the way the dealership keeps their ratings up???? I am not a person that likes to post negative comments but I feel I gave them several chances to discuss and easily resolve this. Just think about how different this situation would be if the response to my tire rotation would have been “ I’m sorry Mr Z we have no record of your lifetime tire rotation but we see that your vehicle is always here for the routine and schedule service so rotating your tires is not an issue as it’s a 10 minute job.” So, beware of South Strand and their Service Manager! The customer service skills need some work. More

He said it was a quick update on vehicle 3 updates no parts included. Just hook up to computer. Even though it would be quick plan on 2 hours. Got to Island Dodge 9:30AM waited in line about 20 minutes finally got into service Dept and a gentlemen in front of me had a 10:30 Appt. I finally talked talked to a gentleman (Chris) at the service Dept and he said they were really busy and it would be about 3-4 hours. He was not very helpful. Went to front to ask for Manager he was not working after about 10 minutes a lady (Liz) at the service desk came outside where I was by my truck and the first words out of her mouth was I need your keys. Not hello or good morning I need your keys. I asked her why they had appointments her response was appointments were to get to service desk to do paperwork. I have owned a dodge truck from 2004. Different dealerships and have never Had a problem getting service/updates/recalls on my truck. Went to waiting room and read complaints about island Dodge. I wish I had checked it out before going there. Ram Care should let you know how good/bad a dealership is before sending you to them. The upper management should take care of this but have not maybe they are part of the problem. Steve was very helpful. Just talked to him he went back to talk to service Dept. They said it just a Jersey guy. I am not from New Jersey and does it matter where I am from. I guess it does to Island Dodge Service Dept. Wayne was outstanding The guy in front of me with a 10:30 appointment was there 30 minutes and had the same updates I had. July 5th 2018 More
