surprisingly PAINLESS Experience I was shopping various manufactures as well as multiple dealers for each manufacturer. I tend to "over shop" to be sure I get the best service and I was shopping various manufactures as well as multiple dealers for each manufacturer. I tend to "over shop" to be sure I get the best service and most of all best price. I am usually the sales person worst nightmare. I stopped into the dealer the other night an hour before closing on one of my many planned excursions to find the right car at the right price. NEVER had the intent of signing a deal, just on my continued quest to collect data for my obsessive comparison. I was plesantly greeted by Mike Ficklin, and once I told him the exact vehicle I was inquiring about, he did a great job in reviewing the various options to confirm I was asking for exactly what I wanted. Although I was confident in my selection, and I already owned the same model from an earlier year, he insisted on having me test drive the vehicle. I had also expressed concern about some issues with a prior service manager during the ride. Upon return of a great ride. Mike introduced me to Lulu Hoppe, Customer Relations/Business Development Manager. She was very helpful in acknowledging my prior experience and providing the ability to directly contact her to assure any future service interactions would be handled in a PERFECT manner. She was very convincing, and I walked out of her office confident that I had a concierge on my side to assure all will be smooth going forward if I were to purchase my next car from here. After proceeding to the "negotiating table" and having already discussed this vehicle with 3 other dealerships, I already knew the incentives, as well as ballpark pricing. Mike insisted on being able to present me with a more aggressive deal than I have previously been presented with (Without any knowledge of what I was told from other dealerships), and that he did. In a VERY clear manner, being carful to explain ALL of the numbers, and a little of the expected negotiations, Mike came up with some numbers that made me divert from my data collection and change to signing a deal. I was sold on the price coupled with the respectful, transparent, and non-agressive tactic that Mike utilized. As I mentioned, it was PAINLESS. I have purchased many cars of the past 30 years, and while I do enjoy the battle to an extent, I found that not having to roll up my sleeves and go to war was an experience I would want every time in the future. This was an experience that will be remembered, and is atypical compared to any experience I have had regardless if I was purchasing economy brands or luxury brands. Even after signing the papers, and going through the less than expected "finance guy torture" Mike couldn't take enough "non-rushed" time to comprehensivly go over the details of the options on the car. Even after the deal was done, Ms. Hoppe, continued to follow-up and assure my utmost satisfaction. As I said, PAINLESS, but more accurately, a real pleasurable experience.
