Denny is an outstanding salesperson who is new to the business, but who will thrive in it because of his laser focus on his customers' total satisfaction. I drove from NJ to buy my Durango SRT here at South Shore because they had some in stock when no one else did. Thanks to Denny and Ben, I got the bulk of the transaction done by phone and then drove out to LI on Christmas Eve Day to sign, pay, and drive away. That's when things started to go sideways. I was paying with a pre-approved bank check and a certified check. The dealership had seemingly never dealt with a pre-approved loan check from a bank, nor did they know how to properly calculate NJ tax. This all caused a ridiculous delay as I sat there for hours waiting for the 'back office' to sort it all out. I paid $399 for the dealership to manage my registration and now, over a month later, despite multiple phone calls, I have an $80K truck in my garage that I can't drive legally because South Shore can't get it registered, and my 30-day temp tag has expired. I'd be fine with the delay if they'd sent me another temp tag...or simply made any attempt to explain any of this to me. I've offered to just have them give me my money back and do it myself, but that hasn't happened either. It's a shame that the customer-facing folks worked so hard, treated me with respect, negotiated in good faith, and avoided all the usual dealer BS (Denny continues to try to help me resolve this), yet the admin/finance people in 'the back' can't seem to be bothered to do their jobs. I love my truck, I sincerely appreciate Denny's continued efforts to assist me, but cannot recommend South Shore CDJR because they've left me hanging for over a month, without any explanation, with a beautiful SRT machine sitting in my garage that I now can't legally drive. Do better. UPDATE: Purchased truck on 24 December. It's now 16 February, I have no permanent tags, and my temp tags expired 24 January. ONCE YOU BUY A VEHICLE HERE, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. They both were helpful and personable at every step. When it was time to pick my Durango up from the dealership, Ben (sales manager) took the time to greet me and thank me for my purchase. Larry showed me all the new features the 2021 Durango had and took the time to set up my cell phone. There were no games while sitting with finance to sign my lease paperwork as well. Overall I definitely recommend South Shore CDJR to anyone looking for straight shooters that don't play the 'games'. Thank you again for the amazing experience. More
