In all categories, the experience I had at South Point Hyundai went above and beyond my expectations. They made it easy, were able to work with my financial limitations, and made the whole car buying pro Hyundai went above and beyond my expectations. I bought a used Lexus and traded my Tundra. The deal was done in a couple of hours max. They worked fast and diligently to get the best trade-in for my truck by calling numerous dealers. They didn't haggle done in a couple of hours max. They worked fast and diligently to get the best trade-in for my truck by calling numerous dealers. They didn't haggle and agreed to do the few minor things needed on the Lexus. They allowed extensive test driving without the salesman. Except for a minor misunderstanding about floor mats, the buying experience was really good. Everyone at the dealership was friendly and helpful. More

Highly deceptive sales techniques. During the negotiation process, I was told that they (the dealership) were going to pay off my trade-in and offered a very low price on a new Limited Sonata. W negotiation process, I was told that they (the dealership) were going to pay off my trade-in and offered a very low price on a new Limited Sonata. When I thought a "deal" was made, I discovered that their definition of "paying off" my trade-in was skewed. They were going to roll about $5,000 of “negative equity” into the loan. I was shocked and appalled! Once I confronted the salesman, he mocked and belittled me. My experience was so horrible that I drove 50 miles (round trip) to the next Hyundai dealership when I was ready to buy again (a few months latter). More
After speaking with the sales person and telling them what kind of car I wanted and what kind of payments I wanted they said they were 99% sure they could make it happen. They asked me to leave a deposi what kind of car I wanted and what kind of payments I wanted they said they were 99% sure they could make it happen. They asked me to leave a deposit and give them a 2 or 3 days. They had all my personal information as well and filled out a credit application online. I had to call them back twice to find out the status. The second time the salesperson said they did not have the car but it would be there in a few days. They offered to put me in a different car until it arrived. I told then no becuase they did not live up to the first deal. They called me the next day to say the car had arrived and they would pick me up to finalize everything. I got a text message saying "Now all they had to do was get bank approval." This was 5 days after the original meeting where I left them all my perosnal information. That was text was followed by pictures of another vehicle they tried to get me to buy instead. I told them no again. They said the bank would only finance enough for the car I did not want. But another Elantra dealer was able to get me the car and workout financing. But dealing with South Point I missed out on that deal. More
Upon reading a negative review regarding this dealership, I felt compelled to write a review regarding my personal experiences at Southpoint Hyundai. I purchased my first used vehicle from Southpoint under I felt compelled to write a review regarding my personal experiences at Southpoint Hyundai. I purchased my first used vehicle from Southpoint under extreme circumstances......I was going through a horrible divorce and my credit was shot. There was only one person out of every dealership I visited that was kind enough to work for days to get my loan approved and that person was Thomas Mowell. He worked for days and countless hours to get my loan approved and I was estatic with his dedication to me as a customer. During routing maintenance on my vehicle in January in casual conversation, I mentioned to Thomas that I was interested in possibly upgrading my vehicle to a newer model with a few more bells and whistles. His reply? "No problem, let's see what I can do to help you!" Not long after, I was so happy to receive a call from Mr. Mowell letting me know that, not only did he find exactly the car I wanted, he was able to get my NEW loan approved on a NEWER vehicle with only a $40 per month increase in payment! I was shocked! I have NEVER had a finance manager work as hard as Mr. Mowell to ensure I was able to get what I wanted with the payment right where I needed it to be. He was very kind, compassionate and paid attention to detail. Without the help of Mr. Mowell, I would have never been able to re-establish my credit score and upgrade to the vehicle of my choice! Thank you SOUTHPOINT HYUNDAI and thank you MR. THOMAS MOWELL!!! I have referred 4 other friends directly to Southpoint Hyundai and specifically to Thomas Mowell and I will continue to do so as long as Mr. Mowell is there. More
Using the above category, I will explain each. And to be clear, this review is NOT based on my experience with my salesperson, Tim, but it is 100% based on the miserable experience of the finance department clear, this review is NOT based on my experience with my salesperson, Tim, but it is 100% based on the miserable experience of the finance department. Customer Service: 1) Finance added fees to the sales price without consulting me (maxed out warranty cost etc); 2) Bad-mouthed Hyundai's own warranty, recommending a 3rd party "wrap"; 3) Bragged and boasted about their own "personal" credit scores (Chris); 4) Added several hundred dollars to MSRP despite an agreement to sale the vehicle for "Costco" pricing ($200 over invoice)... Quality of Work: N/A - purchase of vehicle Friendliness: Very high pressure and condescending... DO NOT go to this dealership. Overall Experience: Sent the check to payoff the tradein to the wrong address, thus costing me a bit more in interest .... Price: Sale price, was good, but the experience of getting it to the point we agreed to is what garnered this LOW score.... More
