In this case the shattered sunroof glass was replaced as instructed by the customer and her insurance company. it would take additional time to remove the interior headliner and trim panels to clean all of the shattered glass from the cars cracks and crevices. This was stated to the customer as well as an estimate for the repairs and they chose not to do this. The job of installing the replacement glass did not include removing any of the above mentioned parts. If turned in as an insurance claim the it could have possibly been taken care of with that claim.

Right, If this had been presented to the insurance company with the original claim, then it would have been taken care of. It wasn't presented until the 3rd time the car was left for inadequate repair. In fact I was told the 2nd time left by the service writer that there wasn't anything wrong at all with my sunroof. Cleaning glass from mechanics should be a given not an option. I am not looking for recourse, just making someone aware of the poor service future customer will receive if some form of customer service isn't implemented. Getting the job done right the first time should also be a HUGE standard when in any repair business.

Let me add also, that we chose not to have the job done at this facility due to the option not given until the 3rd time comeback with my vehicle. By this point in time and the poor service I had received, I do not know of anyone that would allow any more work to be performed by the same facility. It wasn't like I was given a choice up front of : 1). Just replace the glass broken and not care if the mechanics of the sunroof work properly, or 2). Do it right and remove the headliner and do a thorough clean up of glass so there wouldn't be any future problems. We are not the experts in car repair and leave the decision making of this type of job to the people doing the work. If additional time was needed to handle the job, then it should have been brought to my attention in the beginning. For some reason you believe that you are in the right because you did what the insurance company said to do. They did not see the car; you did. When the work was performed and charged out as being "repaired", this then releases that claim with the insurance company because you stated you had repaired it. The sunroof isn't repaired at all, in fact it's in worse shape now with all the broken glass blocking the usage of the tracks. Again, for some reason your facility thinks this is alright.
