This was my first time shopping the MINI brand and all I can say is "wow." Now I knew the cars looked good on the street, but I did not expect my dealer experience to be so cool. Not only was the showroom fun and exciting, but the staff was too! They seemed to know their stuff and most of them appeared to be MINI owners themselves. I learned that the MINI brand is not just about owning a fun car, but a lifestyle and a way of thinking. One of the sales people, Timmy Yang, was especially helpful in introducing me to the brand and what it meant to be a MINI owner. Suffice it to say I am now a happy MINI owner. Thanks! More
This is the fourth Mini that I have either bought or leased from South Bay Mini/BMW. They are the best car dealership that I ever worked with. They have the best prices,but more importantly they do no leased from South Bay Mini/BMW. They are the best car dealership that I ever worked with. They have the best prices,but more importantly they do not try to jerk you around. They do not push upgrades or insurance that you do not want. They offer them but then move quickly along if you say that you are not interested. It is a no hassle pleasant experience. The salespeople are professional and realize that your time is valuable, no sitting in a room while they pretend to be "playing with numbers." I highly recommend this dealership. More
I just leased my second Clubman from the same dealer. I had gone in to replace my brake pads. Because they will let you wait for your car (and they are always nice about that), I had about an hour or so t had gone in to replace my brake pads. As i waited in the dealership, I started a conversation with Patrice, one of their sales consultants. She was super nice and knowledgeable about the Clubman, as she herself drives one too. We chatted about my car, my next car, and one thing led to another...and Patrice had found my "dream Clubman" (with the Hampton package) at another dealership. I waited just one day to have the car delivered, and she handled my all the paperwork and lease terms and unexpectedly, now I am the happy driver of a new Clubman! I had done the requisite research using KBB, TrueCar, and Edmunds, and the numbers that Patrice showed me proved that she was not trying to sneak anything past me. I highly recommend the brand, this dealership, and Patrice. You will not be disappointed. More
I have never associated visiting a car dealership with having a good time, but then again I never visited South Bay MINI. Timmy Yang, my sales associate, is not only passionate and knowledgeable about MI having a good time, but then again I never visited South Bay MINI. Timmy Yang, my sales associate, is not only passionate and knowledgeable about MINIs, but he is also very enthusiastic about providing excellent customer service. I honestly was pretty ignorant of MINIs and the entire culture surrounding them. Timmy not only sold me an awesome car, but thoroughly educated me about the car and made me fan of MINI for life. The showroom is also well designed and spectacular. If you want to purchase a car that you can get excited about and have a blast while doing so, then definitely visit Timmy and the staff over at South Bay MINI!!! More
Buying a car from a "car salesman", for me, has to be right up there with going to the dentist. In fact, we were not even going to buy a car, my husband just wanted to get in a Mini Cooper to see if he would fit in it. Timmy Yang, our salesman appeared with a smile and friendly disposition. He wasn't there to "sell" but there to listen and offer knowledge. He was everything I respect in a sales person (and I am in sales too, btw!)and MUCH more. He took us on a drive--I fell in love and next thing I knew-- we were sitting at his desk looking for the perfect color and style for me. He was honest, patient, kind, and so ACCOMMODATING!!! Even my husband loved him. He gave us an extremely fair deal and was able to work very well with my picky husband. I have never had such a tremendous experience at a dealership. And I will tell EVERYONE I KNOW to buy a car from Timmy Yang at South Bay MINI on Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance. We also appreciated the Finance Manager, Norman McLeod--another jewel--who was also so laid-back, kind and pressure-free that it was a blessing from beginning to end with this dealership!!! Julia Quinn is the biggest asset you have in your organization, and it was through her efforts almost entirely that a deal was struck and closed today on my seventh BMW/mini. She took the time to know me, know my needs, and then set about fulfilling them expertly. In addition, Jamil Zaklit deserves special kudos for being one of the nicest salesman I have experienced. He has great pride in his work, and a wonderful temperment that makes purchasing a vehicle a joy. Don't want to leave out Andy Kim either b/c he is always great, and I closed with him again this time. All in all the experience was outstanding, and I have already referred another potential customer your way. Thanks again Peter for the pleasure of doing business with you and your professional, courteous, always friendly and extraordinary staff. BTW, this is my 7th BMW/Mini, 3 purchased through SouthBay BMW...all great experiences. You can't go wrong with these guys, and the service dept is just as remarkable...meeting every need with kindness and courtesy, that makes owning a vehicle from this Dealership a dream come true. I worked with Timmy in looking for an ideal, but somewhat rare car: A non-S convertible manual. Timmy also worked to get our loan preapproved. Alas, it did not work out as personal reasons (namely planning on starting a family) made us chicken out of buying a new car. But Timmy was very professional and gave us a no pressure environment to see the car and not buy it. Will certainly go to Timmy if we're ever back in the market. More

It's been 2 days now and he won't return may calls or write back. Hello, I purchased a 2010 mini cooper hard top from your dealership in April 2010. On Jan 6th I discovered that my car in fact did not have the runflat tires that I was told that it had by your salesman Travis Mark. At the time of sale your salesman and financial man upstairs pressured me for at least 15 min to purchase your runflat insurance. I'm glad I opted out of that one since your sales department blatantly lied about what kind of tires were on my car. I do not appreciate being lied to. I have brought up the concern multiple times with various people within your company and the overall response is "There's nothing we can do about it now.". Really!!?? You lied about certain features my car had but now that all the paperwork has been signed there's nothing you're willing to do? On Jan 8th I brought my car into your service to inspect the tires to ensure if they were runflat or not (they concluded that they were not runflat). End of story. No apology, no offer to rectify the situation. I also asked about the armrest option. They told me there was one style and it came in gray or black. No other information was offered to me. I asked if it was decent and if people that had it installed liked it or were there complaints. My reply "Oh, everyone loves it and it is one of our most popular installations." There was no armrest for me to look at, not even a picture to go by, so I took your so-called experts word for it and gave the go ahead for the installation. When I picked up my car I was immediately horrified. I could barely access my emergency brake (a safety hazard I'm sure) and I had difficulty shifting my manual transmission. The armrest is also at a height that is incredibly uncomfortable and to my dismay it won't fold up to a complete upright position. NONE of these things were mentioned when I asked if there were issues with it. I called the service dept. immediately regarding all of my issues. I left multiple messages. No one would ever call me back. At last I got a hold of Vatche (sic) and he said he would talk to his manager. I never heard back. At last I asked for Jeremy Guenther directly bypassing Vatche. He informed me that these were known issues with the armrest (he was not willing to address the issue of the tires). KNOWN issues??!! I was told that EVERYONE loved the armrest and there were no complaints. He told me that he would refund me for the part but not the labor to install or uninstall. So I am out of $308.00 because your employees weren't honest with me... AGAIN? I have reported your company to the Better Business Bureau. I am willing to append my complaint if you will take out the armrest and refund me for ALL labor. I believe with the price difference of the tires alone this is a reasonable request. I am not asking for new tires or to keep the armrest. I just want the armrest gone and a complete refund of parts and labor. If you are willing to do this I will continue to be a loyal customer. If not the complaint with the Better Business Bureau will stand and I will post negative reviews about your company on EVERY public forum out there. I will not recommend your company to anyone and direct everyone to other locations. More
