This is the first vehicle I have purchased on my own and I was worried I would be told that I still needed a co-signer. I first talked with Brittany in internet sales and after telling her my situation she I was worried I would be told that I still needed a co-signer. I first talked with Brittany in internet sales and after telling her my situation she spoke to a manager and assured me that they would be able to get me a car with my own information. After making a 2 hour drive I was relieved to be leaving in a new (to me anyway) car. I appreciate them taking the time to work with me because I know it can be a hassle and some places dont even like to mess with it if its not a huge sale. My salesmen, Gerry, was very friendly and helpful as well. More
I hadnt used Big Red Sports/Imports service department since Hudiburg owned it and a friend of mine told me that he took his Suzuki in last week to be worked on and that the service department had almost since Hudiburg owned it and a friend of mine told me that he took his Suzuki in last week to be worked on and that the service department had almost an entirely new staff and Hudiburg no longer was the owner. On Monday I drove to Norman because I needed my Kia maintainence done and they were able to get my car in without and appointment and they were so nice about it. I felt like I was in a whole other dealership then what I was used to in the past. Everyone was cool and treated me as if they actually enjoyed their job and were there to help me. More
About 2 months ago I started calling around to local dealerships looking for a used Jeep Liberty. Like normal, I had several specifics I was looking for but I was unable to find anything that I was wan dealerships looking for a used Jeep Liberty. Like normal, I had several specifics I was looking for but I was unable to find anything that I was wanting to buy. I spoke with a gentlemen named Bobby at Big Red Sports/Imports and told him what I was wanting and of course, they didnt have it, but he said he would take my information and continue to look and would let me know if they got anything. Now 2 months later Bobby from Big Red calls me to tell me that they had gotten in almost the exact car I was wanting..and fortunately I had not yet settled for anything else! I could not believe he had remembered and I will not forget that when I make my next vehicle purchase. More
I made a purchase with Big Red Sports and Imports of Norman. In the beginning I was generally pleased with my purchase minus the haggle, pressure and old school tactics they used to get the sale. Being Norman. In the beginning I was generally pleased with my purchase minus the haggle, pressure and old school tactics they used to get the sale. Being up front and honest would have made things easier. The 06 Grand Vitara seemed like a good choice. I was happy with the warranty 7 year 100k power train warranty, making me feel better about the purchase. I also purchased an extended warranty, which I felt pressured into. The vehicle ran well without much issue. We serviced the vehicle on a regular basis. More frequently than what was suggested by Suzuki. The car broke down on a business trip this December in 2009. I took the car to the dealer where I made my purchase in hopes I would be treated fairly. I was informed that my factory warranty will not cover the damages to the vehicle due to the oil break down in the engine. I gave them my service records for the vehicle. I was informed that this meant nothing and the factory warranty as well as my extended warranty will not cover any repairs. My first question was do I sue the Oil company for making faulty oil or does the oil companies not make oil up to Suzuki standards. I would like to get an opinion from a Castrol Representaive. My second concern would be why the factory suggests oil changes every 7,500 miles (which seems very out of the ordinary.) Unless they are trying to give themselves excuses for not covering warranty due to oil build up in the engine. It also seems rather odd, that I have not got a written statement from the dealership why they are throwing my factory warranty and extended warranty out of the window. My certified Mechanic stated if the oil pump is not working properly or failed which is part of the powertrain, it would build sludge. Instead of them investigating this, the burden is on me to prove it. If you have had similar issues I would love to hear about it. Bad experience with internet sales, instead highly recommend going into dealership and dealing face to face for transactions. I was recently in a car accident (not my fault), which left me without a vehicle, and looking for a replacement. I saw an add for a truck they posted on craigslist for 9988 dollars. It seemed like a fairly clean truck so I decided to go check it out. It was dark and just started raining that evening but I figured I'd give it a look. It seemed like a fairly nice truck... detailed to the nines, but I was told that it did have a rip on the passenger side seat which wasent too big of a problem, so after test driving it I decided to go for it. We started to do the paperwork which was fine other than them trying to sell me a bunch of crap I didnt need. I got home with the truck to find, after the second day of rain, that the cab had a leak in it. The truck was obviously previously owned by a smoker from what I smelled, but I wasnt told about all the ciggarette burns hidden inbetween the seats, one so bad it melted the plastic on the backside of the cup holders. Some of the LEDs on the tail AND brake lights were inoperative. C'mon, isn't this stuff their service department is supossed to check out before they throw it on the lot? Anyways, after the weekend passed I decided to call my bank (the origional lender) to see if the loan was approved. In between the time we did the paperwork, and the time the loan application hit the banks desk I was hit with identity theft and it dropped my credit lower than they would have taken to approve the loan. I called the dealership to tell them the story and decided after all the hassle with the lender and the problems dicovered with the truck that it would be best to go ahead and take it back. When I got there they brought me into this little room to try and get me to refinance the contract. They told me they found a lender to finance me, but at a rediculous interest rate, higher payments, and shorter payment period. By this time I was a little bit frustrated with the situation, because half their staff ended up in that little room to try and convince me to take the crappier deal, including one co-owner. They asked my what they could do to get my bussiness, so I told them I'd take the truck if they can lower the truck price given all the problems I discovered and drop the warrenty plan they sold to me off the contract all together (they didn't tell me that in addition to raising my payments 3 or 4 dollars a month for the warrenty, which is what we agreed, it would also tack 6 extra payments on the end of my term, which was completely against what was agreed apon seeing as how I specifically asked if the price was only reflected onto my origional payments ONLY, but they they screwed me over in the fine print anyways.) They refused to change up anything to accomodate me, then the co-owner told me he wouldn't sell me the truck no matter what and litterally crumpled up the last offer they showed me (the one that was almost painful to look at) and told me to get out. I left that little room and the dealership to realize that I left my phone there. I went back five minutes later to get my phone out of that room, which is where I had it last to see that it wasnt there. It was set on loud so I figured it'd be easy to find, but no. It wasn't on me, or in my friends car who picked me up. Their staff told me I wasn't allowed in that room again because they were doing more bussiness there and they'd call me if they found the phone. a month later still no call on the phone. I swear I left in that room. Also the other day I found out they farmed my information out to seven different lenders after I told them the first one wasn't gonna do it due to my situation, but what do they care? It's not their credit they're screwing. The review below me says the good reveiws never get out because people don't care about writting a review unless they're ticked off. I don't believe that. In between Big red getting busted for putting OU football players on their payroll fraudulantly, all their better BBB complaints compaired to other dealerships (just look it up), and all these severely negative reviews... It's pretty plain to see... a lot of their previous customers are labeling them shady... you're buying at your own risk. More
Hear me out.I hate going to dealerships.? If I had my way, someone else would do it for me. Read my mind and get me what I want. However, life isn't that way.? Having had the experience of the day before way, someone else would do it for me. Read my mind and get me what I want. However, life isn't that way.? Having had the experience of the day before someplace else (the name shall remain unsaid), I was a little nervous. HOWEVER, the experience with you and all your associates was absolutely fantastic. You sir, are a true gentleman and an asset to the company. Thank you for your patience and your help. (Tell Chris I said you need a raise. Thank you. and Lord Bless. Joan PS I love the car. It drives heavenly. Almost got killed coming home on I44. Some (*) fool came up on my left going around 80 and was in my blind side as I was changing lanes. Only my "expert" driving allowed me to be here to write this note.J. This email was sent to Big Red Sports/Imports by one of there many satisfied customers. Having managed various businesses it is a common occurance to have disgruntled customers. That is who we always hear from unfortunatly the satisfied customers speak up as well but there voices are not always as loud as the people who yell. More
where do I start? when we first bought the vehicle in 2005 they were great. Of course there were different owners then and ever since the current owner took over it has gone down hill fast. The first thi 2005 they were great. Of course there were different owners then and ever since the current owner took over it has gone down hill fast. The first thing that happened during an oil change and tire rotation, they forgot to put a lug nut back on one of the wheels. Not a big deal once but this happened 3 times and one time I didnt notice until I got home. When I asked to get it replaced, they said they would have to get back with me and never did. The next time I had my tires rotated, they lost the key to my wheel locks. On another occasion I had them replace a plastic part on the seat and the ash tray lid that were defective which they did for free but it was a major hassle to get it approved because they had to decide if it was wear and tear (the vehicle was still new). A job that should have taken 10 minutes, took them 2 hours. At the big 30,000 mile service, I checked the vehicle out when they were done this time and there was grease all over the front end and all over the doors. They were very put out when I asked them to clean it. The wait time on all service is very long. It is always took about 2 hours or more no matter what I had done. The worst thing they have done to me though is not honoring our tires for life contract. I have an official contract written out by big red stating that I will get tires for the life of the vehicle if I do all my service there and I have honored my end of the deal. First they kept putting me off by telling me the tread still had a couple of miles left on them and now I can see that they were trying to buy some time to figure out how to not replace them for me. They just informed me that they will not honor it because the contract was done by previous owners even though they still go by big red. Even if they don't have a legal obligation, you would think they would want to keep a loyal customer. Chris Mayes, Richard Roby and the managers will not talk to the people so they have the part time hourly workers do the dirty work. They will not return calls or even apologize for any of this. After waiting for about a month for someone to call me back, I actually called and got through to richard who flat out said they are under no obligation and that was that. Again no sympathy. I filed a complaint with the BBB and big red responded with a lie. They told them that they replaced my tires 4 months earlier. I wouldn't have filed a complaint if that were true. This just proves the dishonesty even more! More

My went to look at a car that he wanted me to look at for him! Well I called them friday afternoon to ensure that they would know that i was coming. My mom and i had to run some errands in OKC so we got to the dealership at around 3ish! I went in and asked for Jason, who had called me around noon, he was friendly. He took us all around the lot to find the car and then left us standing in the middle of the car loot while it was misting rain so we walked back to the service area! He came around finally after like 10 mins and was like well the car had to be taken to another dealership to get worked on would u like to look at another one.....! I was SOOOOO mad i could have just rung his neck where he stood. I drove all the way to norman just to find out that the car was shipped out when he KNEW i was coming! If they suspected something was wrong then they should have dealt with it friday not have waited till today...! I will NEVER send anyone up there too look at a car! More
I wish it were possible to give a rating in negative numbers because that is what Big Red deserves. We took our Suzuki Verona there to be serviced after the engine burned up due to the wrong oil filter numbers because that is what Big Red deserves. We took our Suzuki Verona there to be serviced after the engine burned up due to the wrong oil filter being installed during a routine oil change (the oil change was done elsewhere and the other business paid all the expenses for the engine replacement). After waiting over a week for the repair to be completed with no loaner car, we finally got the car back. Less than 3 months later, the check engine light came back on and the car died. We had it towed back to the dealership where they said something was not done properly and they had to replace the engine again. Again, no loaner car was offered and we were left to play musical cars for over a week in order for everyone to get to work and achool, etc. When we were called to come pick up the car, I was told we owed them $97 for fees and towing. I reminded them that they were the ones who messed up and I had no intention of paying ANYTHING. Service guy said he would talk it over with his boss, then called back and said they would deduct the service charges but that we owed them $75 for towing. Called my husband at work and he called them back and again told them we should not owe them anything and they finally agreed. Two days after getting the car back this time, the check engine light came on again so we brought it back in last Friday. Still no loaner car because we brought it in without an "appointment" but they agreed to check the car and call back to tell us what the problem was. It is now Monday and we have not heard a word about the status of the car even though my husband and I went there and asked to speak to the owner Friday afternoon. We were left sitting in the showroom for almost an hour before we got up and left when he (Chris Mays) never appeared, after he was reminded two additional times that we were waiting to see him about the broken car as well as about their dishonest and unethical practices selling cars (but that is a whole other story which hopefully my daughter will write in about). Husband called today to check on the car and on getting a loaner and was told they would check and call back. We are still waiting with no real hope in sight... More
