I have moved from Summit to CT and I couldn't possibly take my beloved Volvo anywhere else to be looked after. I trust his advice implicitly, and whatever he recommends should be done to the car I accept without question. I always feel like I have arrived "home" when I go to Smythe Volvo because all at the service desk are so welcoming and eagerly make me feel at home. If ever I need to replace my car, of course I would only go to Smythe Volvo, although I have seen a Volvo dealer in Danbury, CT which is about 30 min. from my present home. As long as I lived in NJ, I had to get a loaner to get to work. Even when I go down to have the car serviced, they offer me a loaner. Most of the time I do not need one because a friend will pick me up. I am grateful to have had the pleasure of knowing those with whom I have done business these many years. How lucky I am! More

Every experience I've had with Smythe Volvo has been positive. Even though the service team was backed up all day Sean and Tony were able to make time to diagnose and resolve the inconvenience I had wi positive. Service above and beyond the call of duty for an out-of-town Volvo owner!!! On a weekend drive from Massachusetts to New Jersey to visit family, my brakes began to grind horribly. Pulling in to out-of-town Volvo owner!!! On a weekend drive from Massachusetts to New Jersey to visit family, my brakes began to grind horribly. Pulling in to Smythe 10 minutes before the service department closed, with no appointment, I truly didn't expect them to be able to do anything, at least until the following week. I was flabbergasted and incredibly grateful to learn that they would be willing to fit me in THAT DAY to fix my brakes. At least an hour after the official closing time, I got my car back, brakes working beautifully, and I was able to continue on safely with my trip. I was so impressed by the service staff, and encourage anyone with a Volvo to visit Smythe. Though I don't live nearby, I did spread the word to my family in the area, and encouraged them to do the same. Thank you again for providing great service. More
The service department is exceptional when it comes to attentiveness and professionalism. While picking up my 2010 S80 after a scheduled service, I mentioned to Nick Pavano that I sometimes had trouble wi attentiveness and professionalism. While picking up my 2010 S80 after a scheduled service, I mentioned to Nick Pavano that I sometimes had trouble with the Bluetooth connection to my iPhone. He immediately asked Brian, the service tech about it. They immediately brought my car back into the shop, checked for software upgrades, and loaded them. On the spot. This is not the first time my concerns were so quickly addressed by the folks at Smythe. It is also the reason I recommend to people that they buy cars from them. And why I will continue to purchase and service my Volvo's with them. They are exceptional More
My most current visit was for replacement of oil trap diaphragm. I was experiencing a very loud whining, with the check engine light on. So I brought the car in an emergency on a Saturday. Doug MacAda diaphragm. I was experiencing a very loud whining, with the check engine light on. So I brought the car in an emergency on a Saturday. Doug MacAdam was extremely helpful, and calmed my nerves saying that it was an oil trap diaphragm issue, and nothing that needed immediate attention; moreover, he took the time to look up my car and found out that this part and service was covered under an extended warrantee (my car has 107K miles on it, and my warranty ended years ago!...but good news...this part/service was covered until 120K so I was thrilled!) The repair was made today (a week later...I drove with the noise for a week, until Doug could get me in rush service with a loaner), and my car is perfect now. I highly valued Doug's honesty and his accomodating me as soon as possible for this service. I could have taken the car somewhere else, and they might have charged me hundreds of dollars for an 'emergency' repair that could have waited...and was covered under an factory-extended warranty. Kudos to Doug and his team! More
