My family has two cars bought from Smythe Volvo and we have them serviced by them, too. Firstly, their sales department, headed by Kevin Flanagan, is the anti-dealer. I advocate to anybody I know who is considering a Volvo at all to call Kevin because he is on their side. So many people I know are wary of dealers (including me) but I gladly send my friends to Kevin because he is going to give you the straight scoop on the cars, how they stack up, no-pressure, and a very fair deal. That sort of knowledgeable, respectful, no-pressure approach is one big reason Smythe is one of the top dealers in the nation. Now on to service, headed by Sean Flanagan. Another Flanagan, another stand-up guy, and another first rate operation. Also, the team of service advisors are professional, patient, and upbeat, regardless who you get. There have been many occasions where they have advised me how I can more simply or less expensively address an issue, when service really needs to be done, and have also stood behind all work done. Seriously, these guys are the best. Just look at their old school building, with everybody working in the same space, parts, service, service bays, no fancy waiting room with espresso machine and you can see that it is the people that makes Smythe special, and that is the root of their success - and a great testament to the power and longevity of character. I brought my 94 Volvo into Smythe for service. While I was there I decided to look at another vehicle. I really had no intention on purchasing at the time, however because of Steve B. and Sesi C., they bo was there I decided to look at another vehicle. I really had no intention on purchasing at the time, however because of Steve B. and Sesi C., they both made my purchasing another Volvo very easy, therfore, very rewarding. I purchased a Volvo truck and it is beautiful!! I WILL ALWAYS buy a Volvo and it will always be from Smythe. Great job Steve and Sesi. You have earned a lifetime customer. We own several Volvos. The quality of the service department is one reason that we continue to buy our new Volvos at Smythe. This visit was for routine maintenance and check-up for my 1993 Volvo 245 department is one reason that we continue to buy our new Volvos at Smythe. However, as you would expect in a car that is almost 20 years old, mechanical wear & tear in the suspension is progressing. Sean met me at the service counter. I then went for a road test w/ Doug. He patiently explained what work should be done until I get a new replacement wagon, probably later this spring, and what things could wait. Left the car - '12 S60 - to have several accessories installed. Got a lift home after a quick stop at the service desk. Fantastic customer service, great inventory and great knowledge about Volvos - this is our second purchase through Steve Bergamo and we recommend him highly. We have purchased two cars from Steve in the knowledge about Volvos - this is our second purchase through Steve Bergamo and we recommend him highly. We have purchased two cars from Steve in the past two years and have no reason to go anywhere else. What you want in a dealer, but also a particular salesperson, is someone who has honesty and integrity and is trying to sell you what YOU want and not what they want to sell. Steve is tremendously personable, has the highest integrity and is extremely knowledgeable about the cars themselves. In this instance, we looked at two identical cars in Steve's lot and for some reason one had more headroom than the other, but we preferred color of the other car, and Steve even offered to have the mechanic change the seats (at his expense) of both cars so I could have the seat that afforded more headroom in the color car that we wanted. After our first experience at Smythe Volvo, when our second car died, we immediately came to the conclusion that there was no need to go car shopping but that we would just go back to Steve to buy our next car and he is the only one we visited and we bought the car after the first visit. I've been dealing with Smythe Volvo on a semi-regular basis for 6+ years. When it was time to choose some roof accessories for my wifes XC90 Greg was extremely helpful. He was very knowledgeable with the top aftermarket companies and Volvo's current accessory promotions, all of which helped with my decision. The parts department had the standard style roof bars in stock which Greg recommended. They did not have the ski carrier and kayak carrier in stock, however he was able to have it delivered the following day. The next day I received a friendly call from Greg notifying me that the parts have arrived. Overall I'm thoroughly impressed with the level of service, speed, and friendliness at Smythe. More

More than the car I was impressed with the comfort and honesty that I was sensing. The entire experience was good, and as I talk with people I hear nothing but good words about Smythe and their people. Brian made me feel comfortable and was patient with my questions.
