Smythe Volvo

This is the second Volvo xc60 we purchased from Smythe in 2 years. Both were purchased for our teenage daughters because of the car's safety ratings. These proved to be accurate as our eldest daughter was saved from a minor rear end crash-- when she stopped @ a light, things slid off the seat and she bent down to retrieve them, not realizing that her foot slipped off the brake. The car's safety feature kicked in and automatically stopped her from hitting the car in front of her-- just as advertised! Having two new drivers in NJ, where traffic is insane, provokes enough anxiety. It makes us feel much better knowing that they are in the safest car, which is also terrific in the snow! The reason we chose to purchase again from the Smythe dealership is because of their customer service. There was unfortunately a manufacturing defect with the first xc60 we purchased, certainly not Smythe's fault as it was a problem originating from the factory. Kevin Flanagan was incredibly helpful and actually ordered a whole new vehicle, exchanging it for the original which had been driven for 4 months! We have not experienced a recurrence of the problem. We were so confident that this was an isolated case, and that in the unlikely event there was another defect, the dealership would make it right, we purchased the same car for our younger daughter. Tom Rzasa, the salesperson, was pleasant, knowledgeable and did not pressure our decision making at all. This is a family owned and operated dealership. Smythe is a well run facility and one has a good secure feeling that their work is good and that they stand by what they sell and say.
