When the idiot light came on I looked it up in the owners manual which said do not drive the car. So I caalled and left a message after hours and just showed up first thing in the morning. Went in for an oil change, and was told that my transmission oil seals were leaking - something that should have been fixed correctly as part of a vehicle recall campaign a few years ago. Disturbi transmission oil seals were leaking - something that should have been fixed correctly as part of a vehicle recall campaign a few years ago. Disturbingly, the paperwork was written up as if I as the vehicle owner had reported seeing oil - this is an outright fabrication. Thus Smithtown VW service either didn't do the repair correctly the first time, or they've made up a problem that does exist so they can bill repair hours. Either way, they made up something I said. Serve people couldn't explain when I called them on the fabrication. More
