No one knows more about the car then she does. I also had the pleasure of meeting Allison Musante who is the GM at Smithtown Acura. She took personal interest to my needs and manages a wonderful dealership. She is friendly, caring and resourceful.. The service department is always top notch. They have very skilled mechanics and their mangaer, Kyle runs an efficient and skillful shop. He also was able to work on a problem I had with the paint and polish job on my new TL. I was very satisfied with his understanding of my needs and completed quickly and successfully. I will continue to recommend them to all my family and friends purchase new Acuras and have mechanical work done at Smithtown Acura. More

When I purchased my 2006 TL three years ago, the new design for the TL had just been released and I remember when I first saw the new design I was in love. A few weeks ago I decided that I would try to see if it was feasible and financially doable for me to upgrade to the 2009. I began searching the internet for cars and came across a beautiful white 2009 TL at Smithtown Acura. When I called to inquire J.T. Moran answered the call. I am a no nonsense person and a very busy person, with no time to waste. I might also mention that I am a woman in my 50’s who knows what she wants. I don’t want to play the haggle game. I want to be spoken to with respect and I know that knowledge is power and I did my homework and knew what the numbers should be. J.T. understood immediately what my goal was and he never missed a beat in making my dream car a reality for me. The white TL was spoken for, but a beautiful black one was available. After a minor bump in the road, the end result was that I now own the car that first made me turn my head three years ago. JT went far above and beyond the call of service in his efforts to ensure that I was totally satisfied with my decision. I couldn’t have asked for a more attentive sales person. It was overall a fairly pleasant experience. More
Went down to look at a $13,000 used tl,ended up purchasig an $18,000 tl.(my choice, not pressured).Saleperson was friendly and courteous although was always extremely busy with multiple customers.I walked in an $18,000 tl.(my choice, not pressured).Saleperson was friendly and courteous although was always extremely busy with multiple customers.I walked into the dealership with my own financing that i took care of a week before the visit. when the business (finance) mgr. found out,she not only made false remarks about my financing,stating it could take up to 10 days to take delivery but insisted she could meet or beat the rate and I should let her obtain credit elswhere.(I do not have an outstanding credit history) I hastily agreed.after two day's of getting nowhere with financing, I finally spoke to the General manager due to the fact that my salesperson and the finance manager were off. She immediatly took over and processed my sale herself.3days later I took delivery of my car. My overall experience with this dealership was very good with the exception of the finance mgr who lied to me about my loan.I purchased a great car at a great price and was treated fairly by the salesperson and the general manager. More
Dealt with Richard Kopplin...Honestly does not appear to be his best policy. Attempted to buy a pre-owned car...was lied/deceived throughout the process....which management eventually admitted. Negative reviews are the only recourse I have.... so I will keep on giving them in hopes of steering others away from this establishment. More
They gave me courteous, professional service on the used 2006 Honda I purchased from their dealership. They addressed most all of the concerns I had about the car. I am happy to say that on a long road trip I just took, I got 33 MPG, 3 MPG over the 30 MPG that was on the sticker for this car. Had previously purchased a 97 Acura here and always had great service. Their service staff is professional, caring and friendly. More
Upon looking at the car with Rodney, he told me that the TL type S was certified pre owned good to 100k miles. After discussing details I give my $1000 deposit and fill out paperwork. He then comes back after ALL THAT and tells me there it is not certified pre owned and the warranty is only good for 10k more miles. After speaking with the Pre Owned manager Tom, I find out that was a mistake and they would not certify it at that price. I went as far as offering to split the difference to make this sale and was quickly turned down. Even when I offered to pay the sticker price on the car without haggling. Unfortunately i was looking for a specific Acura which they had and I wanted it. I spoke to the salesmen and came down to pick up the car anyway. Now when i first looked at the car, the rims were all curbed and scratched up but Rodney clearly said don’t worry were getting this car all new rims its going to look perfect! Great! I show up to pick the car up and notice some of the wheels still have some marks on them which I thought was strange when they said they replacing all the wheels. As it turns out, they replaced the front left wheel with a brand new beautiful wheel since the one that was there was the worst out of the set. However with the remaining 3 they just got used wheels that were “better” than the ones on there. Problem is not only the fact they I was told I would get a new set of wheels but now the one new one they put on does not match the rest of the wheels at all! It almost would be better to have another used one instead. The stock color brand new is very dark gunmetal. They used ones are very light in comparison and are clearly off. I show people my new car that I paid a nice amount for and they always notice the difference and ask me about it. Me and my father even brought this complaint up at the time of pick up and were just giving the run around. They claim they never told me I would get brand new wheels. The manager even told my father “your right we should’ve replaced all the wheels if that’s what we said”) I guess this is my mistake for trusting them and not demanding every little detail in writing. (Which I will do in the future for sure) So I decide to bring my car in for service. I wanted them to check the subwoofer because it clearly sounds like it was blown and they also told me over the phone that is was documented that they owed me a new wheel. (Why only 1 more, I don’t know) I bring it in and they call me up and tell me that 1. The subwoofer is not blown 2. They don’t know who told me that I was owed a rim(s) but I was wrong (which led to another argument that feel on deaf ears with the GM) First off I know the sub is blown. I’ve worked with stereos a long time to know what a blown speaker sounds like and my co worker has the EXACT SAME CAR and his does not sound like mine does. But they disagree and I get upset and go pick up my car without argument. Summary- I know this is not a brand new car but the reason I chose to buy a pre-owned car from a dealership is for peace of mind and the assurance I would not be ripped off in anyway. Besides this is not a $5k used car this was a $23k pre owned car from Acura. I have no legal rights in this matter because technically they can say or promise you anything and if it’s not in writing you have no case. That was my mistake which I have learned the hard way. Now after spending that much on a car I will have to eventually spend money on a new sub woofer and either new wheels or refinishing them. The sale is done; they got their commission so my issues don’t matter anymore. I do not expect them to do the right thing at this point and fix these problems to make me a happy customer but I took the time to post this review on here, the Acura community forums, and multiple other car enthusiast forums I am a member of look out for people planning on doing business with Smithtown Acura in the future. They will most likely argue this review just like the argued the fact that they didn’t promise me anything but it’s their word VS. mine and there is nothing I can do about it since I did not get anything in writing. Very prompt and courteous service, Rodney was a pleasure to work with. Karen in the finance department worked out a good deal for me and didn't give in to the banks demands to easy so I know she worked hard to work with.
