I was blessed to have had David Farrah as Smith's representative until 2016 and am favored now to have Nick Klinger. As did David, Nick understands my preference for the cars Daimler produced in the 1970's, 80's and 90's and my desire to take very good care of the '95 S350D. Again as did David, Nick understands how MB's cars were put together and what it will take to service them. Each of them was and is a real "customer's man". I'm confident that Smith personnel [Karl] will know how to address whatever problem my '90's diesel has. I appreciate the use of the loaned vehicle and care for it as if it were mine. Incidentally, Smith fixed for me as well, without charge, a nail in a tire [May 2019]. More
Terrible customer service and communication I had a horrible experience with the service department when I brought my car in for a scheduled change over of my summer tires to my winter tires. In September, I ordered 4 new winter wheels & snow tires, which were received a few days later and stored by the dealer. A few weeks ago (November) I brought the car in for the changeover. When I went to pick-up my car, much to my shock, the summer rims were on the car with an entirely different (and oversized) snow tire. So, I was told to keep my loaner and someone from the service department would be calling me the next day with an update. Much to my disappointment, no one from the service department even called me. So, I reached out at the end of the day and was connected to the service manager. He explained the foul-up and miscommunication within the service department and promised to call me the next business day with an update. Again, at the end of the next business day, no call from the service manager. So, I called the GM of the dealership, expressed my disappointment and asked him to get involved. He delegated to my sales rep, who stepped in and took complete control of the situation and became my single point of contact. He kept me informed multiple times a day with updates until a satisfactory solution was identified and implements. He was terrific. It's sad when the service manager of a mercedes dealership is so dis-interested in communicating with his customer's and it takes the sales rep to step-in and do his job for him (in a much better way as well). More
Had nail in tire - fixed free in less than 10 min! Awesome dealership. They are fast, quick and I receive a loaner vehicle if my vehicle has to stay for repairs. I will never leave this dealership! 2008Benz Smith did a good job fixing the issue. No complaints. I wish they’d pumped some air in my tires. I also could’ve used some windshield washer solution. Smith did a good job fixing the issue. My ML55 wouldn’t go into gear! My 2000 ML55 wouldn’t go into gear, I was stuck, couldn’t move vehicle. The vehicle was being detailed at a Detailing Shop. I called over to Smith Mot My 2000 ML55 wouldn’t go into gear, I was stuck, couldn’t move vehicle. The vehicle was being detailed at a Detailing Shop. I called over to Smith Motors and explain to the Service Manager what was going on, and was told that it sounded that water had gotten spilled onto the gear shifter, which made sense, because the Detailer was using a steam cleaner to clean inside the vehicle. The Service Manager recommended that I call Mercedes roadside assistance to have the vehicle towed to the dealership, which was free towing! Once there I was informed they were very busy, but would try to get to it ASAP. I was given a free rental, and informed that they would call me once they got it into the service department. I was call the next day with a cost to repair, which I OK, and the following morning was called stating the vehicle was ready to be picked up. What great fast service! We own two Mercedes a 2001 SL 500, and the ML55, both has been the most reliable vehicles we have ever owned with Smith Motors always being there for us from Sales to Service, always being greeted by the same personnel that been there for as long as I can remember away making everyone feel as part of the family. We are planning to buy another vehicle shortly and Smith Motors will be the only place we will be shopping. Many thanks for all you do! More
