I went to Smith Motor Sales to find a replacement for a Mercedes that was coming off lease. I wanted a new C300 with three specific options. Rebecca Connelly found *almost* the perfect car, except it was equipped with a rear spoiler, a $300 option I didn't want but given the fact they said they could get the car fast and it had everything else I wanted in the colors I wanted I agreed to accept it for a proposed lease deal they stipulated in an email. The spoiler would only cost a few extra dollars a month, so I justified getting it because it wasn't a big deal and might look nice on that car. Rebecca said she would try and locate one without the spoiler and if she could the lease terms would be adjusted down accordingly. When she verified the car had been secured into their inventory and was inbound to the dealership I asked again if the car had the spoiler and was told it did. It was only after I took it home that I noticed it didn't actually have the spoiler on it. When I brought this to their attention their claim was this was the price for the car without the spoiler that I had agreed to, which is a boldfaced LIE. They pointed out that I had signed a purchase order which listed options (handwritten in scribble) and there was no spoiler listed on that paper. I was never given a copy of that paper until after the deal was done, but did indeed sign it. They never said anything about the fact that they were switching the cars with one without the spoiler and never offered to adjust the price again. Someone there just made the decision to switch cars and cheat me out of a few bucks because I had said it wasn't an option I wanted but I certainly didn't want to pay for it and not get it! Basically, because I trusted them that they would get the same car they had offered in emails and didn't read the order paper closely enough they were able to screw me out of a few dollars. I initially gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking this was maybe unintentional. But when I brought it to Loren Goldstein, their business manager's attention and showed him the email offer from Rebecca, he sent me a copy of the purchase order with the scribble writing on it and said this is what you signed and agreed to so I knew then it was done simply to make a few extra bucks and they hoped I wouldn't notice. Another issue with the delivery was the complete lack of consideration of my time when the car was delivered. We set up an appointment to pick up the car and I showed up on time. The car wasn't even on the lot at that time so they had me sign the papers before I ever saw it - I suspect this was because they knew if I had a chance to see the car before I signed I would have noticed the spoiler wasn't on it. It was an entire hour later that I saw the car and was so disgusted about having to sit around wasting time I just took the keys and left, and that's why we didn't look closely at it until I got home. I would warn anyone contemplating the purchase or lease of any car about the deceptive practices of Smith Motor sales and say GO ELSEWHERE. I regret the decision to ever set foot into their showroom. I buy and lease cars very often and never have experienced the kind of deception and inconsiderate service offered by their staff...there are far better choices of Mercedes dealers. Try anyone but Smith Motor Sales! More
My recent service appointments to perform a general alignment after purchasing new tires went extremely well. Recently I was experiencing an issue with the drivers’ door handle and the keyless go capability. The service department identified the issue and replaced the mechanism. Though they did not have the part(s) in stock there was no issue as I was able to retain the loaner vehicle. Also, I found them quite accommodating as during that service appointment I had another vendor replace the cracked windshield. The arrangement of services allowed me to remain mobile and forgo any additional headaches. Smith Motors personnel are also friendly, helpful and courteous and they demonstrate a high level of respect for my vehicle as well as myself. More

Why?, we went to Florida 6 times, to Georgia 2 times, to Virginia 1 time, to New York more than 10 times and my wife drove 100 miles every day. The vehicle never disappointed us. To tell you more i had a Porsche and a Range Rover and visited many dealers guess what, the outstanding customer service is so amazing i bought them two brand new Mercedes Benz last month so that tell you how satisfied i am with The Smith Mercedes Benz dealer. They are great to us every time and when i go to buy or service the vehicle they just ask how can we help you and it get done right the first time. They don't play any games or gimmicks for anything. And i will tell you that when i will need my next vehicle will be from Smith's because: IS NOTHING BETTER THAN A BRAND NEW MERCEDES BENZ FROM SMITH Once you walk in the dealer you will leave with smile and a Mercedes in your hands. Their repair prices are huge at $114/hour. Worse yet, they charge the book rate. I paid $384 to replace the regulator on my rear door as the window would not close. Although it took less than an hour to do the work, I was charged $228 for labor as the "book" said that it "could" take as much as 2 hours. It just doesn't seem fair or reasonable to charge that kind of money just so I can close a window on a car with 75,000 miles. They'll never see me there again. By the way, I purchased the car there. They were great to deal with! Got a nice Mercedes Benz at a great price, I probably could have saved a few hundred dollars going to a herb chambers store. My experience at Smith motors had been excellent. Customer service is outstanding. They had gone above and beyond every time to help every time. I visited Smith Motors years a go and spoke to a Great sales man (Charlie) he gave me a quote and his business card. No pressure, No phone calls, no jokes. I returned to the dealer and in less than a week they put me in a brand new Mercedes. When was time for service David and Mr. West has been taking care of every issue at a level that the mechanic working on my Mercedes speak to me directly. Financing matters Lauren is the go to guy he puts the magic numbers together and explain all details black and white, excellent. The appraisal person Roger he give you fair numbers and make it work for you every time, trust me excellent. I think that that is how a car dealership supposed to be manage. Excellent customer service. Thanks Charlie, Jim, Lauren, David, Mr. West, Roger and all the fabulous Smith staff or better said family that is how they will treat you. Best MB dealership in the area however they recommend a lot of services that are not necessary for another 10k - 15k miles: brakes, rotors ect. Quality Dealership but not a Quality Car. Lexus and Acura blow them away. I'm in the shop 3 - 4 times a year minimum. These cars are only built to last as long as the warranty. If your looking for a MB though, Smith is the place to do business with. More
