We purchased a KIA Optima Hybrid using the Costco auto program. The Smith KIA dealership of Bellingham was knowledgeable about the product and located the Snow White color and all of the features that we program. I presently own a 2005 Kia Sportage that I bought from Smith Kia a few years back. I wanted to purchase a new 2011 Sportage. I have gone in twice to fill out paperwork, get quotes and allow them to run a Smith Kia a few years back. I wanted to purchase a new 2011 Sportage. I have gone in twice to fill out paperwork, get quotes and allow them to run a credit check on me (it's well over 800). I couldn't get the time of day....and I was there having my Kia worked on. I waited 10 days from my first visit before returning. My second visit was worse than the first. I couldn't get anyone to wait on me. When I finally got someone, all he wanted to do was talk about his upcoming trip to Hawaii. Another "helpful" salesman explained to me that I might not like the 2011 Sportage because "...it was nothing like my 2005." More
My wife and I went in the dealership looking for a car or possibly SUV. We haD received a coupon in the mail with discounted prices and 5 (five) entries to a lottery to win different prizes or even a new car possibly SUV. We haD received a coupon in the mail with discounted prices and 5 (five) entries to a lottery to win different prizes or even a new car. My wife haD called the dealership and was met with a very professional/friendly facade. It all sounded good, so when we went in, the sales men were all chatting in the corner of the showroom, didn't even bother to ask if we needed any help. Finally, a salesman, Jim, came to us and said that in order for us to even look at a car he had to get our info. My wife gave her information, SSN, and the whole nine yards, so Jim left the desk. I stopped him and said, "Are you going to run her credit?" He said he wouldn't. We told him we would like to find something we like, and decide which one of us would take the financing, before he places a hard inquiry on my wife's credit. He hadn't even taken my information! He came back, told us he can't help us and turned his back on us, and walked away. I turned him around and asked him if he had run her credit, and he said "No". (Sneak Peek in the future: a few weeks later the the hard inquiry showed up on her credit report!) He never asked about my credit, which is impeccable. They could have sold us a car but in stead he chose to practice the bad business obviously they are taught by their mangers. So, we took our business elsewhere. I would not recommend anyone to buy here. It's not even a good atmosphere, and most of all, they are UNTRUTHFUL. VERY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE! More
