Sales promises unfulfilled Bought a new Mazda CX5 and agreed to their first quoted price but I said that I need three things from them to close the deal. Its all written on that pink "we owe you" paper that is provided with the sales contract. Two of the three were done promptly after the purchase. The third item was never provided and I was told "we cant do that". There was no attempt to reach a compromise, none of the promised calls were received. Their attitude is that for such a small dollar item you cant afford to force us to abide by our promise and we have your money. Buyer beware here! More
Smail's Mazda Service is a generous one-star. I did not buy my Mazda here, but had it serviced here. There is only one service person for the Mazda line, so you get him no matter what. Do you know what it feels like to catch somebody off guard and know they're making stuff up on the fly to cover up their white lie or mistake? That was most of my service experience here. During my last service encounter, I initiated all communication despite repeated requests for follow-up calls, and each time I was given reassurance that my issue was being taken care of. In the end, about an hour and forty-five minutes after my appointment, I learned my car couldn't be fixed. To top it all off, I gave them the benefit of the doubt; contacted their customer care and explained all that happened, and... waited. No response until days later after I followed up, and then I got an impersonal 'we're sorry' from a general mailbox. I'm still hopeful, but not optimistic, that they'll do something better. More
Disappointed I purchased a vehicle from Smail in 2013 where I was also talked into purchasing Auto Butler (even wrote a nice review). I originally drove to Greens I purchased a vehicle from Smail in 2013 where I was also talked into purchasing Auto Butler (even wrote a nice review). I originally drove to Greensburg from Pittsburgh to test drive a new, model-year older vehicle, and Smail was the closest dealership to me that had one in stock. If my salesman Clark wasn't a good guy I would have purchased in Pittsburgh since I decided the older model was not for me, but I stuck with Smail because I was treated good and they price matched and beat my trade-in by a few hundred dollars. The involved parties were aware that I was commuting from Pittsburgh which was over an hour drive for me. I was told that I could go to ANYYYY Auto Butler. I even went as far as asking if I moved from Pennsylvania what my options were and I was assured that there were Auto Butlers throughout the U.S. I was also told that the service would take 1-3 hours (allowing me to sit and wait and not waste my entire day). However, when I called to schedule I am told that I have to leave my vehicle for at least 5 hours. This means I need to either take an entire day off of work (they won't give a replacement car for the day) or have someone drive me over an hour the night before, drop my keys in the drop off box, have someone take me and pick me up from work the next day, then have someone drive me out that night. I did that the first time because I forgot how awful the drive was, and a 2nd time because I thought the price of saving on my emissions sticker was worth it. Wrong. I called three different Auto Butler's around Pittsburgh and was told that they do not service vehicles that were purchased at other dealerships. When I called Smail Finance to see what could be done (refund, or if they knew of an Auto Butler in a reasonable location to my home) I was told 'Yes, Auto Butler can be done at any Auto Butler location, but it is not required that the dealership has to service your vehicle'. The latter part was left out of Nick's sales pitch when I purchased Auto Butler. I then asked if there was a dealership in Pittsburgh that he knew of that would service a car that was sold from Smail in Greensburg and was told 'I don't have a list'. I live in the closest major city to Greensburg, I am positive I am not the first person to drive from Pittsburgh to purchase. It makes no sense they do not have affiliations with places in and around Pittsburgh for services that are pre-sold. I love the Auto Butler service, but I cannot even bribe people to drive me out to Greensburg. I am calling Auto Butler to see if their customer service is any better and can figure out a location so that my remaining 4 years of pre-paid service doesn't go to waste, but I would not recommend using the Finance department at Smail Greensburg. They are clearly out for commission, and the fact that no assistance was offered in this predicament shows their lack of customer service. I can only hope that this review saves someone else from making the same mistake. UPDATE: I talked to Auto Butler and was told that in order to get a refund I would go through the dealership, not Auto Butler, because the dealership purchases the product from Auto Butler to service their vehicles. There was one other location in the vicinity of my house that Auto Butler was able to put me in contact with and they do not accept customers that did not purchase from them as well. So I was lied to again when I was told that Auto Butler would handle any refunds. Worst customer service ever and wasted approximately $1000 on a prepaid service that will go unused. Do not trust this dealership. I will also be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to hopefully prevent other people from falling for their lies. More

Before I had even met Ralph I was recommended to contact hi My experience with Ralph Kercheval at Smail Auto Group was nothing but warm and positive. Before I had even met Ralph I was recommended to contact him and heard great things about his friendly personality. After I had sent him a brief email he quickly showed that he cared because he took the initiative to give me a phone call and discuss my wants and needs. He didn't rely on emailing back and forth, and I could tell he was going to be easy to deal with. He was very prompt in his replies to me but was also efficient with his time. He got down to business right away looking for the car that I was looking for and was upfront and honest from the start. Once I actually stopped in to meet with Ralph, his charismatic personality took over and the whole process was effortless. I got the feeling that he and Ross were genuine people that actually cared about me as a person, and not about the sale. In the end I ended up going with a different car than I originally sought, but this is all due to Ralph and others at the dealership making sure I got the best deal possible and explored all my options. I am very happy with my choice. Even after the deal was done Ralph continued to be of any help I needed. I will definitely be returning to Smail to deal with Ralph and Nick when the time comes around again. More
