We had our Yukon XL in for Service on an extended warranty that was purchased through another dealer. Smail's staff was excellent to deal with and worked with our warranty, etc.. without hassle. My wife and I settled on a GMC Terrain After visiting the Pittsburgh Auto Show. She loved the Mocha Steel color. After building the Terrain we wanted on the GMC website (SLE-2 AWD with the convenience packa Pittsburgh Auto Show. She loved the Mocha Steel color. After building the Terrain we wanted on the GMC website (SLE-2 AWD with the convenience package and 18" machined aluminum wheels) we began our search. IN our travels we happened to stop at Smail Cad. & GMC. We met Bill Campana and explained what we were looking for. He didn't have one on the lot, but said he would do a search and e-mail us. That was on Sat. 3/12. By the following Tues. 3/15 he e-mailed me and said he got one in like we wanted. We met him at 7 PM that evening and took it for a test drive. By 10 PM we were on our way home with our (my wife's) new Terrain. Mr. Campana was very nice to deal with. He gave us a good deal, explained everything in detail about the new vehicle, and gave us a hands on demo of all the bells and whistles. Lastly I would like to mention Tom Mastowski who did all of the legal paper work, title, registration, financing, and etc. Tom was very polite and knowledgeable. Both Mr. Campana and Mr. Mastawski treated my wife and I respectfully and professionaly and we left the dealership feeling good and well treated. As an individual that has purchased many new vehicles since 1970 dealing with Smail and Mr. Bill Campana in particular via the AAA auto buying program was the best new car buying experience I can recall. since 1970 dealing with Smail and Mr. Bill Campana in particular via the AAA auto buying program was the best new car buying experience I can recall. We purchased a new 2011 GMC Terrain to replace my wife’s Oldsmobile that had just rolled 100k. Although Smail was slightly higher (~$163) than the “very best deal” AAA price, I feel that the excellent service we received from Mr. Campana (BTW, a typical friendly & knowledgeable Pittsburgh kind of guy) was worth the expenditure. He took extraordinary time to discuss the Terrain’s features with my wife (it is her vehicle) and then completed the sale (paper work and vehicle prep, etc) in about 2 hrs to meet my schedule. He was very respectful and understood that it was “her car”. We really were only in the initial phases of looking for a small SUV and had previously driven a 4 cylinder 2011 Equinox at another dealer (no 6 cylinder test drives were offered). We explained to Mr. Campana what we wanted and he had the 6 cylinder, and even though it was raining cats & dogs took us for an extended test drive. We were not planning on buying, however, the overall deal (trade & financing) were very good and my wife drove home in her new Terrain. We have yet to deal with the service department at Smail, but if it is as good as the buying experience I anticipate we will be Smail customers for a long time. More
