My wife and I worked with Slaone Toyota before when I purchased my Rav4. At that time we worked with Rick Dyer and had a fantastic experiance. When we stopped in on 9/4/2013, Rick had other customer appointments to attend to so he recommended Mohammed. After our experiance last night, I would highly recommend either one. First off they are very up-front, willing to work with you, and try their best to get you the deal you are comfortable with. They are 100% about the customer experiance and as someone who worked in sales before I couldn't ask for anything more. When we are ready for our next car we will be back!!!! More

He always responded to my calls on the day that I called him. I never had to wait for a response from him. He was attentive to both my husband and myself. I know my brand new 4Runner so well because Bill took his time to explain how the vehicle works and what all of the buttons and touchscreens do. I am so happy with my beautiful car. I'm not typically one for complaining, but I'm sharing our experience in hopes to provide insight both to Sloane and to potential out-of-state buyers. Prior to writing this, I completed Sloane's sharing our experience in hopes to provide insight both to Sloane and to potential out-of-state buyers. Prior to writing this, I completed Sloane's follow-up survey and attempted to share my constructive feedback with Manager Tom Welsh, who claimed that my asking him for help was "like asking a Dell representative for help with an HP product." I'm not sure if this is because I worked with Sloane Devon and not Sloane Glenside, or if this is because I purchased a vehicle other than a Toyota or Scion, but in any case, the deal was made with Sloane Auto Group, and should be managed by Sloane Auto Group. To be fair, I'm starting with positive remarks: Sloane Toyota of Devon was very accommodating at the onset of my interactions. Wayne transported a vehicle from their Glenside location to the Devon store to make the commute from upstate New York a little shorter for me. The vehicle my wife and I were seeking was in very clean condition, and selling for a reasonable price (hence the 4.5-hour one-way drive)! Our salesman, Mohamed Sir Ahmed, is very down-to-earth, open to questions, and not-too-pushy. I also enjoyed working with Brenda, of the Glenside location, for willingly taking ownership and being a helpful point of contact for our deal after we drove off the lot. It was after we had completed the deal that miscommunication and disservice started to surface... Issue 1: As an out-of-state purchaser, Sloane gave me a 30-day temporary PA plate, instructed me to retain my NY plates from my previous vehicle, and said I would receive DMV transfer documentation within 3-4 weeks, and that I could then replace the in-transit plates with my existing plates. 36 days later, I received a package from Reg USA for an entirely new registration. So how did this impact me? I drove illegally for several days and had to pay $51 for 36 days of insurance on a registration that was not even on a vehicle, based on Sloane's poor instruction and service. Recommended solution: The NYSDMV and my insurance agent suggest that Sloane understand the service more thoroughly before offering it to customers. If any of you out-of-state residents solidify a deal with Sloane, surrender existing plates the first business day possible, cancel the insurance on those plates (but make sure you're covered with the temp), and then await arrival of new registration to be applied when received. Issue 2: When my wife and I purchased the vehicle, we were told the vehicle comes with two keys. At signing, I was provided with one key, and when my wife asked for the second, Wayne said he forgot it, and would overnight it within a few business days. When my wife called two weeks later to check in on the status, Wayne said he misplaced the key, but would locate it and send it out ASAP. Two weeks after that we called and left a message asking for a returned call. No call returned. A few days after, I called again but was told Wayne was busy and that he would return my call within the hour. Here we are, seven weeks later, and my wife and I have still not received the key or correspondence. It may sound like a minor detail, but it poses quite an inconvenience when we have to share one key. Recommended Solution: To make good on the promise, and if key #2 is indeed lost, Sloane should either expense the cost and purchase a new key, or reimburse the amount so that we can order it ourselves. In any case, a call back would be appreciated. I've removed the Sloane sticker and license plate frame from my vehicle as I do not wish to be a representative of the name to my region. I've also opted to not recommend this dealer online, though I am hopeful that those working with Sloane in the future receive better communication and service. If anyone (including Sloane) would like to contact me for further information, we welcome the inquiry! ***UPDATE 8/28: Within hours of posting this review, I received a call from Jack Ryan, Director of Sales Operations, who immediately apologized and sent funds for a) purchase of a 2nd key and b) gas needed for commute to the nearest dealership able to perform the programming service. Jack clearly understands the importance of providing quality service to customers and of building relationships and reputation. Other individuals within the organization can learn a lot from Mr. Ryan! More
My wife and I are loyal Toyota customers, in part because we have liked Toyota cars and the willingness of Toyota to work with us, but also because of the proximity of our home to the store. However, in past years we have not been overly impressed with the sales employees who have done the traditional sales-pitch routine, keeping us waiting while negotiations go on behind the scenes, etc., etc. But this time we were delighted to work with Mr. Khalaf who did not get pushy, showed us cars that we were eager to look at (not higher priced cars with extra gadgetry), and graciously let us go after our first visit so we could do some of our homework on cars. When we returned in two days Mr. Khalaf presented what we thought was a very reasonable lease offer which we were able to accept without hassle or harassment. He never had to go to the back office and keep us waiting because the offer made was quite appropriate the first time. Our experience with Mr. Khalaf was extremely pleasant and both my wife and I wanted to give him the highest recommendation because he was not like several other sales reps at this store.
