I received a safety recall notice from Toyota that said our 2004 Corolla needed to have the front door glass bolts replaced. I called up Sloane Toyota at Glenside on a Wednesday and the guy who answered th our 2004 Corolla needed to have the front door glass bolts replaced. I called up Sloane Toyota at Glenside on a Wednesday and the guy who answered the phone said that they didn't have any more available times for this week. I asked if there wasn't any way to get it done ASAP, since (and I quote from the notice) "the door glass may separate from the window regulator, bind and shatter during operation of the power windows, causing driver distraction and/or injury." He told me it's nothing serious. Huh? Is Sloane willing to guarantee that? If it's nothing serious, why did Toyota send me a safety recall notice? Finally, he told me that I could drop off my car in the morning and pick it up in the evening. Thanks, how am I supposed to get anywhere with my only car stuck in the shop all day? I guess everyone at Sloane has an extra car lying around. This kind of attitude is nothing new. Every time I've called Sloane Toyota or gone to get my car serviced, they made me feel as if I was imposing on them, like they were doing me a favor by servicing my car. Customer service is important, but apparently not to Sloane Toyota. I will never deal with them again, and I'll be sure to let everyone I know not to go to them to buy a car. Toyota's a good car company, in my opinion, and there are lots of different dealerships you can choose from. Do some research and choose one with better service. More
I have never in my life seen such a high pressure sales department. After being quoted a price of 18995 on a 2003 prius with 25k miles on it I wanted to talk about a lower number. Well they manage to work it down to 17990 and I was still not happy. The salesmen even went so far as to chase me in the parking lot and offer me yet another deal. I left only to find that the car was on sale in the paper that day for 15990. I will never return there again. Greg More
Horrible experience. I first found out about them through Edmunds.com because they are "preferred dealership" (HA!) But upon sending them a "request for quote" Sloane never got back to me. So I think, no problem, they must just been busy so I pay them a personal visit. What a mistake. First I needed to walk around the show room for 5 minutes before someone would attempt to ask me if they can help me (receptionists were busy chatting with each other.) Then immediately I was told that 2007 Camry SE V6 wasn't available that I had to order one. Since this place is recommended by edmunds.com originally I was naive enough to say yes. So we sat down and getting the paperwork ready. I told the guy I wanted the 18" alloy wheels option. He looked at me as if I'm crazy and told me there is no such option. I told him I look all over the web and done enough research to be an expert, it offers such option. The sales insisted in not so friendly way that there is no such option and I'm dreaming. That's when I just got up and left. Horrible experience and don't waste your time with this one. More
