This website requires me to explain my experience in 25 words “or more”…watch what you wish for! I can honestly say my experience with Skyline Ford was like no other. I was referred by a coworker/friend words “or more”…watch what you wish for! I can honestly say my experience with Skyline Ford was like no other. I was referred by a coworker/friend of mine. He told me he had made a couple of purchases through Sage and was not disappointed. Earlier in the week, I had visited a different dealership. I have purchased many vehicles in my lifetime so I was fully prepared to go through the arduous car buying process. I understand dealerships are not a non-profit organization. But what I don’t understand is why the cat and mouse game needs to ensue every time I step onto a lot. Reluctantly, I let the games begin… First, I’m to act outraged by the sticker price, then, I am to be told that someone would be able to work with me. Later, any positive statements I’d made about the car were used against me to try to push the sale. To make a long story short, after literally 3 hours of the back and forth haggling ridiculousness, lies and absurd attempts at manipulation, I left and will not be returning. Since this is an evaluation of my experience with Skyline Ford, I will spare you the details and move on… I made the call to Sage. It took several days for him to return my call. However, when he did, he professionally explained the reason for the delay. I was impressed that he addressed the fact that it had taken time to respond. His acknowledgment of this assured me that my phone call was important and I was not in fact, dismissed. This demonstrated exemplary customer service. The day I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles. The smiles were genuine and didn’t reek of greed and games. I was rather frank about not wanting to be bombarded with the theatrical version of the car buying experience. Sage guaranteed this would not be the case and introduced me to Norm. The three of us discussed my preferences and budget. It did not take long to narrow down the potential vehicles as Sage and Norm were already prepared for my arrival by having the list of vehicles, prices and info in hand. The test drive with Norm was very relaxed. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He even shared personal stories without seeming pretentious. He had answers to most of my questions and the ones he didn’t, he subsequently obtained. Since I never once felt pressured or obligated, I felt free to express my enthusiasm about the car we drove without feeling the threat of it later being used against me to get me to purchase it at a higher price or even purchase it at all. One of the dash lights was illuminated. Sage quickly introduced me to Jennifer at the service center. She was extremely helpful, explained everything in laymen’s detail and was very friendly and kind. We set up an appointment and the part was fixed at no additional cost. Excellent! The aforementioned conversation regarding “preferences and budget” was intentional. I came to Skyline Ford not wanting my budget to exceed $4000. Due to the courteousness, professionalism and relaxed-no-hassle atmosphere I was more than content with spending double that amount without any buyer’s remorse. The entire process from start to finish was the most laid back experience I’d ever partaken. No one quoted any laws about how long they could hold the car for me, no one tried to convince me that someone else was interested in the car I was looking at and no one seemed overly anxious about the sale of the vehicle. Envision ALL dealerships with no hassle, pressure or lies…Well, that’s just it, it’s only a vision. But for Skyline Ford, it was a reality. Thank you Sage, Norm and Jennifer. More
The employees there treated me like a king. Well, it all started when we had the "Big Snowstorm/Cold Snap" in early December...my wife and I were staying in our 5th wheel trailer at our camping spot (Thousand Trails-Newport, Or.) when, Snowstorm/Cold Snap" in early December...my wife and I were staying in our 5th wheel trailer at our camping spot (Thousand Trails-Newport, Or.) when, after dumping 4" of snow on us I found out that I was basically "snow-bound" with our 2006 Ford F-250 4x4 Lariat right in the campground unless, of course, I wanted to chain-up. I didn't want to do that so we decided just to wait it out until it warmed up enough to go into Newport and the roads were clear (or go home back to Salem). My tires were practically "bald" and I had been holding out to make sure that I was going to be able to get a "free set of tires" according to what the sales people originally had told us back when we bought the truck in 2006; we thought it was "free tires as long as we owned the truck", however, after talking to Jennifer when we got back to Salem, we found out in the "fine print" on the contract there was a 6 year limit on that offer & no more than 2 sets of tires. Well, we hadn't even got one set of tires for the truck in almost 8 years! Imagine our disappointment! Well, not "crying over spilled milk" I asked if Jennifer could possibly locate us a set of "take-offs" from one of your new truck sales. She told us she would talk to some people and get back to us soon. She called back the next day and said she had some good news! She had found us a set of Michelin tires and that the Service Mgr would be willing to let us have them at half the cost; we were elated!! I made arrangements to go down to QuickLane in Keizer the next day. I arrived in late morning and Jennifer said that the tires hadn't shown up yet from storage; well, I sat there for another hour of so, and she told me that she couldn't get hold of the person retrieving the tires from storage. So, we decided it would be better the next day and she would call me..the next day she called and said that she had some "bad news & some good news"; the bad news being that she couldn't get the Michelin tires because of a big recall on same, but the good news was that the Service Mgr was going to let us have a new set of Continental tires like my originals FREE OF CHARGE!!!!! WOW!!! My wife & I were speechless....there really is a SANTA CLAUS!!! Jennifer and the whole team at Skyline Keizer have made our belief in goodness fulfilled! Within a short period of time he returned my call and recommended what has turn out to be the ideal solution to my transportation needs. In other words he listened to me. Ron Parrish handled the actual sale and again he listed to me. Equally important he patiently answered my questions regarding the vehicle (2006 Ford Explorer). If he did not know the answer to my question, he got the answer. He was honest in his answers. JP did a superb job cleaning the vehicle (twice). The vehicle was immaculate both times. Dave Fountain handled the financing expeditiously, efficiently, but more importantly he diligently researched the available financing options. The result is that I am paying an interest rate that I did not think would be available to me. More
