Some of the most unprofessional acts of customer service I have ever seen or been a part of. I had been looking to upgrade to a newer car for a couple weeks when I seen a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport loaded with blue accented leather, navigation, and light hail damage at Sioux Falls Ford (I couldn't find another like it on cars.com less than 500 miles away), a very nice car. I inquired about the Fusion requesting more information about the car and financing. I was contacted by the dealer and exchanged some emails with a sales consultant. The financing amounts he had quoted me didn't make sense and were a lot higher than expected though, so I used a few financial calculators and my engineering background to look into this further. After the use of my time and effort it was determined that his quote was $100/month higher than it should have been ($7200 mistake that I had to solve). After this I talked to my bank and got a better interest rate, so I was planned to finance through my bank and had everything setup to go look at and test drive the car. I went to Sioux Falls Ford on Monday night after work and test drove the Fusion. I loved the car and was pretty pumped about buying it. Before I left that night I put $500 down on the Fusion, so they could hold it for me. Tuesday morning I get a congratulations email from the sales consultant asking me when I will be coming to pick up the Fusion and I tell him the next day, so he can get the car ready. This when it gets good! Later that same afternoon the sales consultant emails me saying that my Fusion had been sold to another person, after I had put $500 down on it! I was shocked, how could this happen? I was even more shocked when I found out how it did happen. I still haven't received the full story today, but apparently after I put the $500 down the car was taken to the back of the dealership parked with tags and keys removed (no stock number or keys in the car). So, when the car was sold, the other sales consultant supposedly used the second set of keys to get into the car (red flag!), sold the car without a stock number or tag in the window (red flag!), and did all of this and a test drive without asking anyone if the car was sold (red flag!). Shouldn't my signed receipt give me rights to the car? I'm not a lawyer so I'm not sure, but who cares right? My sales consultant doesn't fight for my side at all, instead he just suggests a different car that is $1000 more or the refunding of my money. After being disgusted enough with this event and treatment I tell him to just refund my money and I will be on my way. I wrote this review today because I'm upset about the way I have been treated by the Sioux Falls Ford sales consultant and to offer some advice to future customers. You can't trust anyone in today's world (shaking hands on deal means nothing), if you put money down on a car at Sioux Falls Ford and want to be sure it's your car, take the first and second set of keys home with you and tell them you will clean the car yourself! Dustyn is OUTSTANDING!!!! He is great to deal with, my car was finished early every time. He is great to talk to and has a "CAN DO" attitude. He wanted to make sure that we were comfortable with our purchase. Initially we were looking a buying a Taurus, Saturn or Fusion. But the Chrysler was a great value for the price we had to pay. He had even washed our windows before we left with our new car. We haven't had a car loan in 5 years so it was hard for us to to buy a new car with a monthly payment. But Jim Loria made it a lot easier and reassured us of our decision. This was our first purchase at Sioux Falls Ford and we had a very positive experience from working with Jim Loria to finishing with Anne (Finance Department). Dana responded promptly, and placed my wife in direct contact with Shane. Service was scheduled the same day and the discrepancy was resolved. (A defective batch of oil filters and gasket) Shawn followed up with me the next day via phone and email to confirm everything was resolved to my satisfaction. More
