I went to Sill-Terhar, about 4 months ago, to test drive the 2012 Focus. Jeff Callies helped me for the demo ride. Other than a thank you email, there were no pestering phone calls.(unlike other dealers where salesmen called incessantly after my inquiries.) Last week, I was ready to buy. I had sold my old car sooner than expected, so I was without transport. Jeff sent someone to pick me up at my home and drive me to the dealership. The car that I was interested in had not arrived, but Jeff arranged a loaner car for me. For a week. That car did not work out, as expected, but Jeff gave me a great deal on an in-stock Focus that fit my needs. He briefed me on the operation, when I picked it up, and did all the Bluetooth and Sync procedures for me. Jeff is why I bought here, and not the dealer nearest my home. If you are looking for a Ford, Jeff is your guy. By the way, the Focus is an awesome car! More
The transmission on my 60k mile 2006 Mazda 3 was making a noise so I brought it to the service center and paid over 100 dollars to have the mechanics look at it.It took them almost 5 minutes to tell me that noise so I brought it to the service center and paid over 100 dollars to have the mechanics look at it.It took them almost 5 minutes to tell me that the transmission was making a noise and that they don't repair transmissions, they only replace them. They quoted me a 3700 price for the labor and parts. The 100 dollar inspection would go towards the cost of the transmission if i choose to use the dealership for the repair. The price seemed high even for a transmission so I left to have it checked out at other mechanics shops. I went to 3 separate shops and they all inspected my transmission for FREE and gave a much more detailed description of what was wrong. All 3 quoted a price that was about half the dealership price so I ended up using one of the other shops. After I got my car returned I went to the dealership to pay the 100 dollar inspection fee but when the guy at the service desk looked up my information they had no record of my service. They guy told me that they didn't show me owing them any money and even if I did I would have to wait till a different employee came back from lunch to use my credit card because no one there knew how to run a credit card. About a week later I received a notice saying I was overdue on my service charges. So apparently there was record of my service somewhere but not at the place where the service happened? It was and still is super confusing but the letter I received had a phone number and I was at least able to pay the money I owed. I absolutely would not recommend using this dealerships service center. I did not use them for the repair so I cant testify to the quality of work but I can testify that they have high pricing, poor customer service and questionable record keeping which is enough to keep me away in the future. From the beginning Jeff was very friendly and a pleasure to work with through out the process. He kept in touch with me and responded promptly to e-mail or phone messages. There was no hint of the sterotypical high pressure sales pitches sometimes associated with car salesmen. Jeff was extemely helpful in finding the right vehicle for me and went out of his way to search other dealers' inventories. He made sure everything was in order so the purchase process went quickly and smoothly. After the purchase, he did a thorough job setting up the media devices and explaining all of the features on the new vehicle. I was very impressed with how knowledgeable he was and with this passion for automobiles. I would definitely recommend Sill-Terhar Motors and especially Jeff Callies to others looking for a vehicle.
