Great Service. Lousy Pandemic Response I would normally rate Sierra Toyota five stars across the board and gladly recommend them to anyone looking to buy new, used, or just get high-quality I would normally rate Sierra Toyota five stars across the board and gladly recommend them to anyone looking to buy new, used, or just get high-quality service. But we are not living in normal times. I was frankly shocked at the apparent disregard for employee and customer health. At least that’s the perception I get from the fact that no employees were wearing masks (save one, but she had it pulled down exposing her nose) and there were no shields between employees and customers at the service check-in stations or at the check-out payment desk. In both of these locations people can easily be within six feet of each other and touching surfaces that multiple people have breathed on and talked next to (not to mention coughing and sneezing). The only change put in place in response to the current public health crisis was to remove about half of the vehicles from the showroom and spread out the furniture for patrons waiting for service. Perhaps all of the employees’ temperature is taken when they arrive for work every day and promptly sent home and tested for infection when exhibiting symptoms. But there is no way they can guarantee that all employees are virus free. This virus in insidious. It can be spread without being symptomatic. Mask wearing and physical separation are the two best measures we have to protect each other and the most vulnerable among us. I am sorely disappointed in Sierra Toyota for their seemingly cavalier response to COVID-19. The quality of work, friendliness, and fair pricing for excellent work were all still up to their pre-pandemic levels, so five-stars there. But I cannot in good conscience rate customer service anything above poor, nor can I recommend Sierra Toyota service or sales to anyone—especially high-risk groups—until the pandemic is under control or better mitigation measures are implemented for all their employees. Very disappointed. My car would not start, I had a tow company jump me and I brought the car in. When the dealership called me to say it was ready, I came back, paid and went to leave.
