BUYERS BEWARE!!! To be clear, I gave ample warning the GM and Service Manager that my daughters experience would be posted if they failed to respond to my concerns. On behalf my overly trusting daughter, and Service Manager that my daughters experience would be posted if they failed to respond to my concerns. On behalf my overly trusting daughter, I have filed complaints with the TxDMV (which has already opened an investigation), the BBB, Toyota Corporation, the Federal Trade Commission, and with the Attorney General Office. Also, we will be seeking legal counsel attempting to file a civil suit and posting reviews on every social platform. Just a brief summary of our dealings with the sales team. My 25-year-old daughter wanted to purchase her first car and finance it 100% on her own. She asked me to help find a Tahoe/Yukon online and she would do the rest (a perfect naive-female customer for the Shottenkirk team to try the bait-and-switch on the sales price). She was excited to find a 2015 GMC Yukon advertised online for $21,116 at Shottenkirk Toyota in Grandbury, TX. After trading in her 2008 GMC Acadia (they gave $2823.52 and she owned $2429.22), putting $500 down, purchasing an extended warranty from Ethos for $1878, and adding TT&L ($1575.08), and other fees totaling $297.50, they financed $30,197.28. The next day, something didn't add up to me so I looked and the contract and the sales price had changed from $21,116 to $27,341 before adding any fees. She said the price was never discussed considering she called prior to making the drive from Ft Worth and a sales team member verified it was the correct price. I called and was told the online price is only good when you deal with the online sales team. After I questioned the logic, he said the price was only good for a limited time and that price was no longer being honored. Yet, I had the website open and it was still showing the Yukon available for the $21,116 price. Several times over the next few weeks, I called and requested the GM call me back but I never received a call. Long story short, my daughter told me to stand down and she would never do business with Shottenkirk again. So against my wishes, I left it alone.....UNTIL RECENTLY. Within a few days of the purchase, she had 3-4 issues with the Yukon and Shottenkirk tried to resolve them quickly.... until the motor had to be replaced which was under warranty. So, after a few weeks the "gently used" engine arrives; however, surprisingly it's damaged and can't be used. Two weeks later the other used engine arrives but has damage to the oil pan. At this point, they had the Yukon for about 2 months. We got the vehicle back (3/17/21) and immediately discovered multiple issues. I called the SM and explained the situation in detail. Oh and the driver and passenger floor mats are wet again! He's response, "Well it's a used motor." Well that wasn't the right answer and I let him know my thoughts regarding his excuse. I then emailed the new GM with my concerns and he later called me. I had been told the GM was fully aware of the ongoing issues with the Yukon. However, this was all new information to him then I explained the situation. He agreed this didn't meet his expectations and would personally handle things moving forward and keep me posted. I asked about the sales price and the false advisement. He admitted he had heard this was a common practice at this dealership in the past. He informed me that he had only been at this location for 4 months and had made it clear that wouldn't happen moving forward. He said the internet price is now the final sales price. Clearly, this wasn't the first time he had heard complaints about this issue. I ask the GM if he could do anything to make it right. He offered $23,800 for the Yukon she paid $27,341 just 8 months ago. I also requested a meeting with the ownership group because we we're consider seeking legal advice. The GM hasn't returned my calls or responded to multiple text messages requesting an update on the Yukon. At this point, it's been 9 days (3/22-3/31) and we still don't have an ETA on when the Yukon will be returned. More
In sales Tyler was very helpful, however Hannah, who is the expert in Hybrids failed to inform me of the Reverse Proximity noise System which would have been a deal breaker had I known about it. the expert in Hybrids failed to inform me of the Reverse Proximity noise System which would have been a deal breaker had I known about it. Horrific buying experience. We should have listened to the other reviews stating the sales experience was awful but went against our better judgement. So far the vehicle seems fine. We spent hours trying the other reviews stating the sales experience was awful but went against our better judgement. So far the vehicle seems fine. We spent hours trying to finalize our transaction. We were provided misinformation repeatedly. The “manager”, Macon, was dismissive and deceitful. Be prepared to lose ridiculous amounts of time and watch closely for hidden fees. More
