They claimed it was supposed to be serviced and detailed (and fueled). Left headlight was out and the service person argued with the salesman about it. When the make-ready guy brought it up, the salesman questioned why it wasn’t detailed. The kid said “it’s clean enough” and tossed the keys to the salesman. We took it back to be done and it was detailed, but not serviced. Excuses were made that it had been serviced before it was traded in. If that was the case, does that mean your ASE certified mechanics do not actually do a multi point when they take a trade? As a mechanic, I know a prime indicator of damage is visible upon draining the pan and checking the magnetized plug for shavings. As evidenced by a pep boys filter still on the vehicle (dated July) and RTV sealant dabbed on the plug (as a tamper seal), none of this had been checked. I also found the previous owners mail in the console void (poor detailing). Was the vehicle checked at all upon intake? Your sales manager had no clue and only offered weak excuses. It is an atmosphere where it is evident that management is afraid to confront service and make-ready personnel and that is a main reason for the perception of a lackadaisical operation. if you want more information, have a General Manager call me, I’m not jumping through hoops.
