Pricing is very misleading and they are super aggressive about letting you know they can’t remove their excessive fees. I wouldn’t recommend stopping here if you actually want to be treated like a customer about letting you know they can’t remove their excessive fees. They sold us a 19,000 van for 26,000. Van needed motor, and they took it to dodge in Athens, AL. It's been over 3 months and still don't have it. The one who sold it to us will not return Van needed motor, and they took it to dodge in Athens, AL. It's been over 3 months and still don't have it. The one who sold it to us will not return calls. They over price everything and add lots of fees and ins. that you don't need. They took advantage of a hearing impaired vet. More
I went to see Mr. Scale to purchase a used car when I encountered an employee flashing a White Power sign. When I spoke with the person in charge he tried to tell me Scale to purchase a used car when I encountered an employee flashing a White Power sign. When I spoke with the person in charge he tried to tell me that it was a game that children play and that his employee was just playing that game. Even though his co-worker told him that it was rude what he had just done. So, if it was just a game why did his co-worker come out and say “that was rude”. That manager must think I’m stupid. I would never give them my business again. More
Omg the fees! !! I was looking at a 2022 Ridgeline and several of the packages you can get around $40k. But they keep the loaded $47-50k models. I told them wher !! I was looking at a 2022 Ridgeline and several of the packages you can get around $40k. But they keep the loaded $47-50k models. I told them where I needed to be on it and the sales manager overshot the moon trying to sell me what he had. Says he can’t order me the level I want (sport) because Honda just isn’t manufacturing them right now. (I guess That’s how they create a tight market.). I noticed the dealership fee was higher than most others ($749) then they FORCE you to purchase the”Shottenkirk warranty “ for $999. I asked if I could purchase without that warranty….nope! They’re going to shove it off on you. Loved the salesperson, Laura. Excellent personality and attitude. I give her 5+ stars. But I bought two vehicles previously from Jerry Damson Honda and I want that dealership back! Not everyone is a rich corporate executive. More
It looks like I had a similar experience to others on here. It's difficult not to notice the vast difference in culture from the days of Jerry Damson. During our test drive, my sales rep, Daniel, even co here. It's difficult not to notice the vast difference in culture from the days of Jerry Damson. During our test drive, my sales rep, Daniel, even commented on the change to a more "corporate" culture. He was nice enough, but there were several frustrating moments throughout the process. The sticker price is definitely designed to get you in the door with zero effort to get you out the door remotely close to that price. The actual base price on my paperwork was $400 over the original advertised price. After deciding to move forward with the purchase, they initially tried to charge nearly $3k in fees alone, not including tax and title. The manager, Zac Biddle, was the full stereotype of a used car salesman. There were several small but very frustrating things when the experience hasn't been great, to begin with. They didn't fill the tank up all the way, they left a massive residue on the liftgate where a former dealership emblem apparently was. The day I signed all of the paperwork, the vehicle hadn't been detailed. So Daniel said he'd be back in by 9 am the next morning, and it would be ready to pick up. I got there at 9:15. Daniel showed up at 9:30 with no communication or apology and just said that the van wasn't ready yet. He was not great at communicating, and I felt he did nothing to try and help me with the overall sale outside of bringing the van around. He initially handed me one key, and when I asked if there were two, he said no. Then he looked at the tag on the keyring and realized there were two keys. So, all that to say that I chose to purchase the vehicle at the price I bought it for. But, in every way Damson used to try to make the customer happy, Shottenkirk goes the opposite way. Dealership first. Customer satisfaction is a non-priority. Some of this I suppose is a result of the current market. But it's not a sustainable business model. You can see it in several of their salespeople. They're not happy there. They don't like the environment. If you find a great deal, don't sign on the line until you can actually leave with that deal. I would advise shopping around more before you decide to buy here. More
This dealership quoted me a price of $44,000 for a 2022 CR-V LX which has an MSRP of $26,800. That is $17,000+ above MSRP! Avoid this dealership if you value your hard-earned dollars! FEES FEES FEES! My husband and I are expecting our first baby and were looking to pay cash for a cheap used vehicle due to needing a second car. I researched the car My husband and I are expecting our first baby and were looking to pay cash for a cheap used vehicle due to needing a second car. I researched the car I found online on their website thoroughly, and their “sale price” was at the top of what KBB valued it at in perfect condition (which it wasn’t with a missing hub cap, tire light on, and part of the dash held together by duct tape). We went to drive it, loved it, and were prepared to buy it, UNTIL we saw their out the door price. There were so many unnecessary fees tacked on that a “$7,000” car was now over $10,000. I told them our max budget was around 8,000 and that I knew from research that the car was not worth what they wanted for it…. They bring back an offer at exactly $10,000 and turn right around and ask if they could get it to $9,000 if we would still consider it. The first mistake was advertising a car at one price knowing it will be way over that amount, the second was knowingly and admittedly not bringing me back your best offer the second time, and the third was the overall unwillingness to work with me and lower/drop the unnecessary price gouging and fees that you supposedly “can’t take off due to company policy” and trying to get me to “just finance” instead. The sad thing is I went into it with realistic expectations and would’ve probably bought it at around $9,000 if I had felt like they weren’t just trying to squeeze extra money from me from the beginning. I absolutely will never work with this dealership again. More
