My overall experience with Shottenkirk in Waukee was tremendous. I was not pressured to purchase a vehicle the first night I was looking at possible options. The customer service was great. Immeadiately after pulling onto the lot I was greated by a salesman (Jake P. Brown) and began looking at a specific vehicle. They continually mentioned how they wanted to work with me to provide the best price, and thanks to Justin Saiz and Ra Shaan Long they did indeed. After the deal was all said and done my car was already washed, filled with gas, and ready to take home. The overall process was a great experience and I will definately recommend Shottenkirk in Waukee to friends and family. More
I would not recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. The experience started off very nicely with Travis the salesman. Very nice and friendly. He was not pushy and let us find the car we felt worked best for us. He went to bat for us to get the very best deal possible. When Travis had completed his steps we were passed off to Justin. And unfortunately this is where the experience went down the drain. Justin was rude and not sensative to our budget restraints. He kept trying to pressure us into a bunch of add-on stuff for the loan that simply made things too expensive for us. Once we finally got a deal negotiated and all the paperwork signed we left feeling like we had a good deal in place. We returned the next day to drop off the car we had traded in. When we did so we were blindsided by Justin who told us we needed to make a larger downpayment. Now all paperwork had been signed at this point already and a deal in place. Justin tried to explain it was an issue with the bank but would not tell us whom the bank was or what the specific issue with the bank was. He was very shady about the whole thing. We agreed to pay the larger downpayment as we love the car. We again left thinking things were ok.Then 3 days later we are called by Colin. He was very nice much like Travis was at the beginning. He explained they were still having issues with the bank but would not clarify. He is doing his best to rectify the situation but we still are strongly considering returning the car and going to a different dealership. Travis and Colin are very nice and friendly. They are true assets to the dealership. Justin is very rude, arrogant and pushy. Overall the experience was horrible as we felt pressured and actually signed 3 sets of papers because they couldnt get something straight with the bank. i feel like we got ripped off. Because off all of that i would not recommend this dealership when there are several other choices very close by. More

Took car in for oil change, service writer matched a competitor coupon, service was performed quickly while I waited, coffee and newspaper were available, when presented car is was also freshly washed a competitor coupon, service was performed quickly while I waited, coffee and newspaper were available, when presented car is was also freshly washed at no extra charge. I went in to Shottenkirk after my college graduation to buy a new car. I left with a 2012 Malibu at drastically low clearance prices. My dealer, Scott, was very knowledgable and friendly to work with and h buy a new car. I left with a 2012 Malibu at drastically low clearance prices. My dealer, Scott, was very knowledgable and friendly to work with and he was a straight shooter when it came to pricing/negotiating. I was able to obtain mud flaps, a fill up, and 2 free oil changes along with the best price possible on the car with preferred interest terms.
