I called and spoke to three different people on the phone before I took the hour drive there. I was told very specific details on what to expect when I would get there. None of it was true. Very phony, ou before I took the hour drive there. I was told very specific details on what to expect when I would get there. None of it was true. Very phony, outright liars. Shady sales techniques. Thought this old way of car sales went out with the dinosaurs. They tried every old used car salesman trick in the book. After listening to their pitches and misleading lies for two hours, I had enough and asked for my keys back. They couldn't find them right away so I raised my voice loud enough for all customers within 30 feet to hear that "I wanted my keys back" They suddenly found them. I then said good bye and said I would not being buying any vehicles at that dealership. I was trailed out the door by a large sales staff entourage all the way to my own vehicle with new promises and quotes. My Gosh, they were desperate. But any price they quote would not be low enough. I do not recommend anyone, no matter what they promise to buy from them. Don't do it. Comes with too much baggage and after doing more homework on the reputation of Sherman Dodge, I have learned their Service Department is no better. Lots of disgruntled customers there too. Wish I had read some reviews before going there. After leaving their dealership, once I was back home, I had two messages on my answering machine from the "manager" with new promises and quotes and anything under the sun to get me to come back. These phone calls went on for two months even after I called and asked them not to call me anymore. I had gone there based on misleading information given to me over the phone. I was highly disappointed and angry at how I was treated there. I was discouraged about buying a new vehicle from any dealer for a few days afterward. But, I did buy a new vehicle a few days later from a very good dealership closer to home too. I do not trust the people at Sherman Dodge, they were so disreputable, I am actually afraid of retaliation or else I would name this other "good dealership" I just want to forewarn others about Sherman Dodge and their misleading, shady and dishonest sales techniques. Tony worked hard to give me a great deal. It took him a while going back and forth but he got the job done. I did not enjoy sitting in the dealership as long as I did but in the end it was worth it. They have the best deals I found in Chicago. More
none of the prices online on the website are real. they all include rebates that most people dont qualify for. so if the price online is really low, don't think that it is a good deal, unless your also in all include rebates that most people dont qualify for. so if the price online is really low, don't think that it is a good deal, unless your also in the military and work for ups and delta, cause I don't. wasted an hour drive for nothing. I live in the city, about 15-20miles away from Sherman Dodge. I received a phone call from Sam while I was at another dealer whom attempted to sell me a car with 70k miles on it. I was insulted; yet whe Dodge. I received a phone call from Sam while I was at another dealer whom attempted to sell me a car with 70k miles on it. I was insulted; yet when Sam called me I was completely honest with him. He asked me what kind of a car I wanted, I told him I wanted a reliable car with a price that made sense. Sam assured me that I would not be wasting my time driving all the way from Chicago to Skokie. I arrived at 5pm, on a Saturday and was out by 7ish'. I can't tell you that I have ever purchased a brand new vehicle in 2-2 1/2 hours!!! Outstanding service, I would recommend that anyone who is seeking good service, and a reliable car to come to Sherman Dodge Chrysler Jeep. How could I forget, I drove off the lot with a brand new 2011 Jeep Patriot!!! More

CROOKS STOLE MY CASH DEPOSIT after i found a better offer at Napleton's Jeep dealership. I never signed ANYTHING and the "reciept" i was issued expressed NOTHING about my deposit being NON REFUNDABLE!!!! The at Napleton's Jeep dealership. I never signed ANYTHING and the "reciept" i was issued expressed NOTHING about my deposit being NON REFUNDABLE!!!! These guys are true liars and criminals. I even went as far as calling the Skokie Police Dept to help me resolve the issue. Needles to say I was furious!!! Unfortunately the Police couldnt do anything for me other than recommend taking them to court. Apparently their deception wasnt deemed to be "obvious" therefore making this a civil matter. I never signed ANY papers or made any promises to purchase anything. The reason they requested a csh deposit was because i wanted a Black vehicle ,but they didnt have one on their lot at that time and said they would bring one over by the following Monday (this was on a Saturday)from another lot. They asked me if i was serious and if so would i mind leaving a cash deposit. I said sure! How Much? %500 they replied. I didnt have that much in me so I gave "Jerry" $200 cash . at no point did anyone disclose that this was NON RFEFUNDABLE! i was called on Tuesday by "Jerry" and i informed him that i did find a better deal elsewhere. I told him i would be there later that eve to collect my deposit and he tells me that it was non refundanble.......next day i met "Tony" the "Manager" or whatever this guy claims to be. i went into his office and pleaded my case but he already knew full well what i was there for. time went on and on and he continued talk me around and around in circles just like these wannabe car salesmens are notorious for doing. ultimately i demanded my deposit back and he said "Fuck No" WOW>>>>i couldnt believe it either. So i called the Skokie PD and you know the rest....... I have filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General's office and i have consulted my Lawyer as well. What a headache. Oh and did i mention that the very first price i was quoted on the vehicle was actually 3,000 over the sticker price. Of course after i brought that to their attention they apologized and said it was a miscalculation...hahahahaaa yeah< im sure it wasnt! DO NOT STEP ONE FOOT INTO SHERMAN DODGE in Skokie without your lawyer and accountant with you. Sherman Dodge robbed me. Plain and simple. More
Oh, where to begin? (STAY AWAY FROM SHERMAN DODGE) I originally saw an awesome price on Autotrader for a 2011 Charger basic model, the price was $22,190. I called and spoke with James and explained to h originally saw an awesome price on Autotrader for a 2011 Charger basic model, the price was $22,190. I called and spoke with James and explained to him that all I look for is honesty and explained to him that I would be trading in a 2006 Jetta. Now, I am not naive and I know that there is usually a catch to things and dealers have a bad reputation... but Sherman Dodge brought this to a whole new level. Lets be clear, the discounts that were applied to this price were $2,500 for trading in a 2010 or 2011 vehicle (never mentioned to me after I told him my trade) and also a $500 for military, $500 for dealer cash and $500 from Dodge (I believe). The first thing they did was write down a bunch of numbers and then cross out the ones that did not apply, thus bringing the price of the car up to $25,190. I then managed to get them to say they would be give me $8,000 for my trade.. with me still owing $9,500 (no big deal). However, this is where it started getting even more shady than when I was falsely led to believe what the price of the car was. Now, if you know anything about how the trade in works... it goes something like this: The dealer cuts a check to who ever you have your trade-in financed through and the remaining balance can either be paid off by you or rolled into the price of the vehicle. Hence, I owe $9,500 and they would give me $8,000, leaving me with $1,500 to be responsible for (I completely understand that). However, this is where the number games began. The salesperson (Willy (or Willie)) tried telling me that since they are giving me $8,000 for my trade, I would only have to finance $17,190 and then I would write a check to my credit union of the Jetta loan for only $1,500. RED FLAG began popping up right here. They then told me that my payments would be a bit over $400/month for 60months at 3.49% and around $490/month for 72months. IF you do the math, I would actually be financing around $26,000. OF course, they NEVER disclosed the true amount until I showed them I did the math myself and they tried doing damage control. Another thing that bothered me is the run down building that they do business in. I walked inside and it reminded me of the movie "Used Cars." The building looked like it was falling apart and they didn't have a single employee that kept the area clean. If you want to do business, at least keep the facility clean and have the salesmen keep their ties tight and shirts buttoned. The salesperson I dealt with ranged from being nice and joking with me to being completely rude. I was explaining that I would like the Jetta key back after they did the appraisal, I wanted to avoid them holding onto my key so I couldn't leave. He then rudely put his finger in my face (yes, this did happen) and said "excuse me, let me straight..." The manner in which this was done was completely rude and it took a lot for me to hold my tongue. Yes, they do have a large volume of cars. But save yourself the hassle and go to a reputable dealer that cares about the way they present themselves. Yes, the majority of dealers are not the most honest places, but I have dealt with dealers that are not nearly as bad as Sherman Dodge. All in all, STAY AWAY FROM SHERMAN DODGE!! Even if you think you're getting a good deal, they are finding a way to take you to the cleaners. I recommend to go to Gurnee Dodge more than anything. They will treat you much better and you will enjoy your experience much more. More
to not have to write this over again, this is the email i sent another dealership in my area : only thing i didn't mention in this email is after a year, only a year after purchasing a "new" 2008 charger wit sent another dealership in my area : only thing i didn't mention in this email is after a year, only a year after purchasing a "new" 2008 charger with 3,000 miles on it, the breaks went out and they charged me a $1000 to replace it. how do break go out in a year?!! that wasn't even the worst of my experience at sherman, read on.... I am reaching out to your location in hopes of hopefully getting a better experience than the ones I've had with sherman dodge. I bought a 2008 charger from that location, and even after receiving sub par service, went back to that dealership in hopes of purchasing a 2011 dodge charger se. i hate to write a long email, but i was treated very rudely by the management staff at this store. when i originally went to sherman dodge in 2008, i was appalled at how arrogant and condescending the manager i dealt with was, not to mention rude. the sales person was ok, but me being from the sales and customer service industry myself, i am a more of a knowledgable consumer than most. in other words, i know how the sales environment works, as i am a retail manager my self. that doesn't give a manager of any type of location the right to talk down to a customer. going on, my sales person, after days of negotiating to close me on the price i saw on the dealer website!(the fact i was patient for this process should tell you how my experience was), made it sound like i was getting things included with my car for free(a "special" paint and "special anti theft system) which i actually ended up paying more for which i found out during the payment process, as the total price on a 18,000 purchase after tax title license was 24000! i asked the cashier to explain why it was so high, and he said because i was purchasing "extra" equipement that turned out to be the items that the sales person was painting as included in the price i was paying. after getting "conned", i still wanted to give this dealership a shot since i like to stay loyal. my last visit was the last straw. i saw a price of 21,995 for a 2011 dodge charger on autotrader that actually showed a sherman dodge price! after i finally meet back up with my sales person from 3 years ago, he gives me some bs that 25,000 is the best price he can give me on one, and the price on autotrader is if i was in the military and worked for ups, since, according to him " a lot of our customers are in the military and work for ups, which is why we have that price on the website". finally after some more negotiating, the price was brought down to 22,900 and was presented as if they were doing me a favor. the last straw was the manager telling me it was impossible for me to get a white charger because of, and i quote him "some shortage in japan"... i told this manager that i really had my heart set on a white one, and he looks at me with a disgusted and arrogant face and tells me "well good luck, because you arent' going to find any white ones till at least next January"... really? that's how you treat a customer? i'm telling you, me being a manager myself, and thankfully a much better one than this guy, would never treat a customer like that. finally, as I'm leaving, the other sales guy that was assisting me looked embarrassed for his managers actions, and kindly told me "i'm sorry for that, but we'll take care of you. come back to sherman dodge, we should have some by tuesday, don't go any where else, we'll take care of you." at least this guy was trying to be nice, or atleast did a good job of pretending like he cared about me. and once again this location let me down and i've finally had it. that was last thursday and i have yet to get a call back from this dealership. i actually had to call myself today, and my sales person told me there were 3! my question is , why didn't he proactively contact me?! i actually called him 2 times today, and each time he tells me he'll get back to me in half an hour?! it's obvious these guys don't know how to do business, as i've yet to hear back from him. I've never received as poor service as i've received from sherman dodge. i was also looking at a camaro recently to keep my options open, and honestly to put a long story short about this experience, the chevy dealership guys have treated me like a customer is supposed to be treated. i would hate to miss out on purchasing the car i really want to purchase because of lack of customer service, and go with a chevy camaro instead, which right now is my second choice after the 2011 charger. which brings me to you guys. i wanted to find a dodge dealership that would take care of me, and after doing research you guys have pretty good reviews and are dealer rater certified. i'm trying to remain loyal to dodge because i love the charger. It boggles my mind how i proactively reached out to sherman dodge , even after my initial mediocre experience, and i was still treated poorly. all i want is a white 2011 dodge charger se at atleast the price i see on autotrader, 21,995. i am not looking to trade because i am selling my 2008 charger to my brother, and i am looking to purchase in full. i have worked hard to save up money for this new model, and i hope you guys are able to provide me with the good customer experience that sherman failed so horrible in executing. thank you.
