Extremely detached from the customer; as far as "you bought it,it's yours now" mentality..had issues with the vehicle within 5 days and wasn't aware that the battery was at the end of it's life. Got up bought it,it's yours now" mentality..had issues with the vehicle within 5 days and wasn't aware that the battery was at the end of it's life. Got up on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and it wouldn't start. I had my insurance tow it to the dealership where it sat until Tuesday morning and a service advisor calls to let me know that it's only a dead battery..his name is Jason and just not very accomodating..I felt like I was a nuisance. Shame to spend 18k for a vehicle battery to mysteriously die after only 5 days..how can you certify a vehicle for resale with corroded battery posts and where they put a "hot" charge on it that morning it had boiled the battery acid into the box. Then agreed to replace it and pay half and agree to pay the $20 diagnostics charge to your own service department and "we'll call it even"..$126 for the new battery and I PUT IT IN MYSELF IN YOUR PARKING LOT..and still wouldn't start and had to drive another 40 mi.s to finally pick it up the next day. Guess I won't be buying a new Camaro from you when I can finally afford it. My family and in-laws have bought atleast 10 vehicles in 20 yrs. form this dealership and they always pride themselves on loyalty..you have gotten too big and have forgotten about the folks who don't come in and buy brand new vehicles. I should have stayed here in the Roanoke Valley and wouldn't have ended up in this fiasco. I will tell everyone that I know including my co-workers(some already know), to strongly shop other dealers before considering this one. More
I love the new 2013 Kia Rio we bought from Shelor in Christiansburg,Va. However I feel I was severly misled. This is the first new car that my wife and I have purchased. First I was shown a Toyota Cam Christiansburg,Va. However I feel I was severly misled. This is the first new car that my wife and I have purchased. First I was shown a Toyota Camry that was way out of my price range(I had expressed to Josh that I couldn't go much over the $312 I was paying at the present) the Toyota was about $450 a month before my trade in. Secondly on Saturday I was shown a payment range of $366-$376 on the new Kia Rio and my wife and I were led to believe that included the gap insurance. When we got into the finance office we were told it didn't include that in the price. This to me seems like bait and switch. This also made my payment go up another $14 to $381. I was told with the new Kia with all its safety features that my insurance would drop in price,it went up $15 a month.I was told this by the salesman(Josh Beavers) and the finance person(Morris Miller). Overall this by far was my worst time I have ever had at Shelor. This is the third car my wife and I have purchased from this dealership. I work in retail and sales myself. I think a little training should be in order for all people involved. It would also be nice if something was done for me as well. My wife and I work hard for what we have and don't like to have this done to us. More
I was working with 2 local dealerships while I was buying my vehicle. The staff at Shelors did not make me feel like I was a bother to them, like the others did. I arrived at the dealership, purchased my vehicle, and drove away in less than 2 hours, while the other salesmen had been giving me the runaround for 3 days at the other dealerships. I feel like Shelors was fair in their pricing and also very helpful in explaining my options without making me feel pressured. Dwayne, Mike and Eugene were all very friendly to us. We have already been stopped by several strangers who liked out vehicle and we have already recommended Shelors to them and others for any vehicle purchase.
