When I had my turn at the counter I was told that it was to late for me to be seen. I explained how I was waiting for 25 minutes. I was told I should have been checked in when I pulled up. I explained that I pulled up and no one said anything to me. I requested to see manager and he said I would try and fit me in. At that point I realized it was best for me to move on I will never use this place again. This was not my first issue with them. Perhaps they need new managers. More
I drove up to the Laurel Toyota on 4 Jan 2014 since it was the closest Toyota dealer and my vehicle was experiencing issues and overheating. It was about 4:15 on a Saturday afternoon when I arrived at the was the closest Toyota dealer and my vehicle was experiencing issues and overheating. It was about 4:15 on a Saturday afternoon when I arrived at the service department of the Laurel Toyota Carmax. When I drove up no one approached my vehicle to inquire what I might have needed for the first 5 min (even though there were about 4 men shining on the cars that were in the reception/exit area. So I walked into the service counter area. The lady at the counter was busy counting change and refused acknowledged that I had walked. I stood there for about another 5 min before one of the service techs walks in and goes behind the counter and starts playing with the computer. Mind you, no one has said anything to me at this point. After a few moments, the woman who was so diligently counting the change at the counter, tells the guy at the computer that I still needed to be helped. What am I invisible? He asks what I needed and I proceeded to explain to him that while driving down the road my SUV started smoking and several of the warning lights had came on. He tells me that he doesn't have any service techs available to look at my vehicle. Umh, I guess the 4 guys I saw as I walked up were invisible also??? So I tried to explain to him that this was an emergency situation but he basically told me" there was nothing he could do for me today and that I would have to come back on Monday". I asked he could keep my vehicle and offer me a loaner so that I would not have to chance getting stranded on the side of the road with a vehicle that was overheating. The response was, "we don't do loaners". Really?? I've been a Toyota owner since my first car I purchased, a 1980 Toyota Tercel and I have never experienced such a poor excuse for customer service from any Toyota service department. Laurel Toyota Carmax does not deserve to wear the name of Toyota because this service department is no where indicative to the standard of service that Toyota takes pride in for their customers. I will not ever attempt to use this service center again nor will I ever refer anyone else to use it. More

Carmax had the best price on a new Toyota (by far) much better than any dealership in my area (and they would not match it) so I decided to contact them even though it was far away from me. Robel was very better than any dealership in my area (and they would not match it) so I decided to contact them even though it was far away from me. Robel was very easy to deal with and very up-front and relaxed throughout the whole process. No hidden fees and no silly old fashion car salesmen quotes. Arranged to come in from out of town. Was able to get some of the financing handled over the phone. Had the car waiting for me to check it out when I got there and the process took only a couple of minutes to go through the paperwork. They even prepared the car while I completed the paperwork. I realized even though I lived a couple hours away it still took me less time to go through this process (and the driving) then sitting down with another salesmen (and the whole negotiation game) More
I bought a brand new 2012 Toyota Corolla from this dealership, the sales man Junior was kind and very convincing. He told me that the car comes with a very nice warranty and if I buy extended warranty dealership, the sales man Junior was kind and very convincing. He told me that the car comes with a very nice warranty and if I buy extended warranty, it will cover the car repair for another 100,000 miles! I was convinced that I don't have to worry about anything for a long time and bought the car. 1 month later, the tire pressure light went on! The rear right tire was flat! OK, since the car was only 1 month old and it is still under warranty, I took it to Carmax service department. The man who worked there was very unhelpful and he said "We have 2 hours wait." I asked him if he can take a look at it quick, maybe there is a puncture because I can hear the air coming out. He said "If there is a puncture tire, we don't fix it here and it is not cover by warranty!" I WAS extremely angry and disappointed. I am talking about a 2012 brand new car here! They don't even care about trying to make new customers happy. I feel extremely cheated and lied to about buying the CARMAX warranty! The warranty doesn't really cover this kind of problem. I am scared to bring my new car here for repair since they can't even fix a small problem with a flat tire. More
I would highly recommend Jerry to anyone looking to buy a new toyota/scion. He was very friendly, fun, easy to talk with, and also very transparent. My wife and I spent over 6 hours with him over the course new toyota/scion. He was very friendly, fun, easy to talk with, and also very transparent. My wife and I spent over 6 hours with him over the course of several days, and he even stayed 3 hours passed his evening shift to finalize our sale so that it would work better for our schedule. He has been there for over 11 years and was very knowledgeable, unlike some other dealers I visited. Carmax Toyota has a fixed price no-hassle-no-haggle deal with Toyota and he was very honest about how they were able to sell a car under invoice, and freely admitted it might not be the absolute best deal out there, but it is still a very good deal, and without the huge effort of haggling (I'm not a haggler). I did some research using truecar.com and comparing with other dealers and we definitely got a great price (below average and target price). I probably could have gotten maybe $1k less elsewhere if I had super negotiating skills and more time, but I didn't mind paying a little more here because the service was excellent and I didn't have to haggle. He was able able to give us the on-the-road price and exact monthly payments for the multiple trim levels we were considering. He told us that at Carmax they get paid a flat commission so there was no pressure to buy a more expensive model, and there was truly no pressure at all. Jerry clearly and patiently explained everything throughout our buying process. Jerry is extremely friendly. This car was for my wife and we happened to buy it the day before her birthday, and Jerry called the next day to wish her a happy birthday. When going over the car remote he even explained that when you click once it unlocks just the front door and not to press the button again to unlock all doors because of how guys wait for single women to get back to their cars and jump in when all the doors unlock. As a husband I really appreciated that. Overall great guy, and great person to buy a car from. More
Visited the dealer for my first service, 2011toyota corolla, oil change and tire rotation. Waited for one hour and ten min and they said my car was all set. Service is paid by Toyota so there was no ch corolla, oil change and tire rotation. Waited for one hour and ten min and they said my car was all set. Service is paid by Toyota so there was no charge to me. I worked as an auto mechanic part time while in college and learned to mark my tires to check for correct rotation. Walked over to my car and checked my tire markings to find them in there original locations, next I pulled the dip stick and found dirty oil. I waited for over an hour and they did nothing but said they did. I asked to speak to management, they said the oil didn't need changing but how or why do I think they didn't rotate the tires. I then showed how I mark them and then they said well we are sorry if you wait we will rotate them. I left never to go back, More
Buyer beware! We started to purchase a Scion from Buyer beware! We started to purchase a Scion from this dealer. On the front end they were friendly and everything seemed smooth. This was a cash Buyer beware! We started to purchase a Scion from this dealer. On the front end they were friendly and everything seemed smooth. This was a cash deal so once we wrote the check we were ready to take the car and go. But then they sent us to an office for "paperwork". We were a little puzzled as we were not financing the car so we didn't understand why we were suddenly and without any warning presented with a contract to sign. This contract required, among other things, that we waive our rights to any subsequent legal action against the dealership, forced us to agree to arbitration and basically asked us to sign away our consumer rights. When we told them we were not willing to sign the agreement, they said "no deal". Needless to say, we did not purchase the vehicle. They also told us that Scion used a fixed price model and that no discounting could be done on any Scion, which turned out not to be true. We found 2 other dealers who were willing to negotiate on the price of the car. If you are buying a Toyota product in Maryland, I recommend trying Antwerpen Toyota. I only wish we'd gone there sooner. More
After visiting other dealerships, Carmax Toyota in Laurel was a refreshing surprise. The service and price were both great, and there was no haggling or pushiness on the part of the sales representatives. was a refreshing surprise.
