My wife had a incident where her vehicle had slowly broke down on her way to work. upon her arrival i was able to check the car and see it had some serious issues with the engine. This was a big and demoralizing issue as we just years ago got this dodge neon used from this same Sheehy location and still had a loan on it owed. I called due to going online at work and was set up to come see Josh about options for a vehicle for my wife. We never have bought new and expected to finance another used vehicle for her. When we arrived Josh greeted us as if we were family and with Professionalism we hadnt seen or expected. We told him that the vehicle was outside and that i drove it for my wife so that her and our daughther could drive my car safely. The whole trip to the dealership was a nightmare as the car topped speed of 35MPH and was smoking perfusly. i stalled on midlothian turnpike and managed to make it into the parking lot at Sheehy after a long drive from Parham rd. The car was again smoking perfusly from the engine. Josh assured me of my worries and that we would get my wife a safe vehicle for her and my daughter to use going forward and not to worry. and sure enough he delivered!!! His knowlege gave me options to have my own choice, but not being a car expert i allowed him to input greatly. He explained that because we owed roughly $5,000 on her vehicle and the trade in for it being almost a total was like $200. His knowledge was shown as he told us about the new car rebates and discounts as opposed to financing another used vehicle as i expected. The rebates alone were a benefit to offset the upsidedown loan from the trade in. He also discovered i had an excellent discount program from my company which was amazing, and On top of that... he mentioned the special financing for the 2011 Fusion and with the rates possible he estimated payments for me that sounded amazing for a Brand new, 2011 fusion, trading in the vehicle we owed $5,000 on. . . sure enough my wife was in love with the black fusion, which wasnt on the lot. . he didnt try to talk us into a different color or style with more or less features, he simply owned the situation and went and found us a black 2011 fusion in northern VA and had it delivered to us the next day. we signed and bought the car that night without even seeing it, and came in the next day after work to sign and finalize the paperwork as the car arrived, and Josh is the reason why. At that point he said rather than us take the car he wanted The shop to perform a full inspection for us and a full detail, and because we had no way to pick it up due to our work schedules, he brought the car to us, i repeat delivered it to us the next day, at our job off parham road. That is true compassion and customer service. Josh made this nightmare for our family into a dream come true. I now can knwo every day my wife and daughter are driving safely and better than ever. Thank you Josh Shepard for the peace of mind and all you have done for my family. I sincerly hope that Sheehy not only retains you and that you recieve proper recognition and promotions, but that they can seek to hire more professionals like you, who stand far apart from any other "car salesman". My dad and myself have been to this dealer a few times together in the past and we always kind of thought that this dealer needed to work on its customer service. The salespeople always seemed to want to together in the past and we always kind of thought that this dealer needed to work on its customer service. The salespeople always seemed to want to make you a deal TODAY! WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR YOU TO DRIVE THIS CAR HOME TODAY! and wouldn't take no for an answer. I went there recently for the first time alone to investigate the possibility of replacing my car. I knew I couldn't buy/sign anything that day because me and my dad had to work out a few financial things first- I just wanted to look and possibly test drive so that I would know what kind of financial magic I would have to work to afford it. I told the salesperson this upfront. Into her office we marched to "find something that I might like on the computer." Lo and behold, there's a 2005 Escape on the lot that's in my price range-or is there? When I asked to see it, I was told that it wasn't on the lot, and I couldn't test drive it, but "we can have it here in under 24 hours if you want to take it home today." The sales person goes to "print the info sheet" on said Escape and returns with the sales manager. His first question: "how much are you ready to put down on this car RIGHT NOW!" Keep in mind that this is a car that I have yet to see or drive. When questioned, I also admitted that I would need to make payments and have a cosigner who was not present at that time. This upset the sales manager, who announced that they couldn't help me today and that I should come back when I had a cosigner present, and then they would "see what they could do." In other words, they told me to leave and only come back when I could spend some money on a car that I hadn't even seen. If this was an isolated incident I might be a little more sympathetic, but every single time over the years that we have visited Sheehy, it's left a bad taste in our mouths. This time, I'm drawing the line, and will not be going back. More
