My entire truck shopping process took some time, as I shopped around at 5 different Ford dealerships before I returning to Sheehy, after speaking with the salesman (Lance) on the phone, and during which shopped around at 5 different Ford dealerships before I returning to Sheehy, after speaking with the salesman (Lance) on the phone, and during which conversation he agreed that Sheehy would be able to match the best price I'd been quoted at another dealership. I went in, and after 3 hours of back and forth and paperwork (which, by and large went smoothly - they matched the price, as agreed, and everything to be worked out), I left with the promise that the truck, which was being transferred from another location, would be available the next evening. At this point, all that remained was to exchange keys for 2 checks (one from me, one from my financing). The next day, I checked in with Lance at lunchtime - no sign of the truck. Later that evening, I checked in again - still no truck. Around 7:00 PM, I finally get a call that the truck wouldn't be in until the NEXT day (now day 3). At around 9:30 AM the next morning, I get a call from Lance, telling me that since Sheehy is being charged a $400 transfer fee to get the truck, I'd need to pay that, or else give up the sprayed-in bedliner that I'd negotiated. The price had been settled 2 days before, and they were trying to change it. Irritated by how the process seemed to be going, I posted a very discontented review here (which I've replaced with this one), recommending that potential buyers avoid Sheehy. Shortly after, I was contacted by the GM, Jordan Fooks, who had found a way to bring in another truck with similar specifications (and all the things I had wanted in the original truck) at the original price. The truck arrived the next morning (day 4) and Lance did a great job of keeping me up to date on the status of the vehicle until it was ready for me to come in and pick it up. The pick up itself went relatively smoothly, only hindered a little by the fact that some of the paperwork had to be re-done for the new VIN. Lance went through all the features of the My Sync system and the other "gadgets" in the truck, making sure that any questions I had were answered. Throughout the entire process, the one truly positive character in all of this was Lance. He was great; I truly feel as though he was there to help me get into the right vehicle, and ended up getting caught in the middle of a challenging situation through no fault of his own. If you're looking for a salesman, Lance is a good guy to speak to. With regards to the Sheehy management, I have mixed feelings; on one hand, they did try to pull a fast one on me, but in the long run they got creative and came up with a solution which left both parties, if not completely happy, then at least satisfied with the outcome. I'd hesitate a little bit about returning to Sheehy for another vehicle, but in the long run, I think I'd still go back, mostly because of my experience with Lance. More
