And then... we met Jacoby at Sheehy Ford of Gaithersburg. What a delightfully unexpected plot twist. Jacoby was calm, genuinely laid back, and refreshingly free of the aggressive sales choreography we've come to expect. He welcomed our skepticism, never once made us feel pressured, and repeatedly assured us he wanted to be our car guy, not simply sell us one car. He even made the thoughtful effort to speak Spanish with us whenever the opportunity arose, which we truly appreciated. The finance office is usually the final act in the horror story that is buying a car. I fully expected an extended performance about warranties and add-ons. While I know those products have value for many people, they simply weren't right for us. I explained that once... and that was the end of it. No pressure. No guilt. Just respect.
