My first contact was with Joe in the service department. I went in for some routine maintenance as well as an issue with my cam phasers. During this process, I had received a call from Seema who asked if I was interested in trading in my F150. Initially, I said no, I had picked every feature and package that went into my F150 before I purchased it. But after some time, I realized it was time for a new vehicle and agreed to have it appraised and pursue a trade. Permit me to confess that I regard car shopping with the same enthusiasm one might reserve for a root canal during turbulence. And then... we met Jacoby at Sheehy Ford of Gaithersburg. What a delightfully unexpected plot twist. Jacoby was calm, genuinely laid back, and refreshingly free of the aggressive sales choreography we've come to expect. He welcomed our skepticism, never once made us feel pressured, and repeatedly assured us he wanted to be our car guy, not simply sell us one car. He even made the thoughtful effort to speak Spanish with us whenever the opportunity arose, which we truly appreciated. The finance office is usually the final act in the horror story that is buying a car. I fully expected an extended performance about warranties and add-ons. While I know those products have value for many people, they simply weren't right for us. I explained that once... and that was the end of it. No pressure. No guilt. Just respect. It was easily the smoothest finance experience I've ever had. Our vehicle wasn't quite ready that day, so Sheehy Ford of Gaithersburg graciously provided us with a loaner until we could pick it up the following afternoon.
